You’ve probably heard the “breaking” news that Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps was caught smoking weed at a college party. This 23 year old responded to the press by saying:
"I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."
So the question I have is do we judge more on him because he is famous and feel he should not be subjected or tempted and engage in youthful immaturity like the majority of his age group? Are we more forgiving of a non-celebrity or is there equal judgment? What do you think?
