Throwback Thursday: Brigitte Bardot's Cat Eye

The iconic French actress put the “cat eye” look on the map during the 1960s. This striking graphic eyeliner suits every eye shape because it follows the natural curve of the eye. The wing is really about using the lower lash line as a guide and flicking upward. Remember that it takes lots of PRACTICE to get a flawless line like Brigitte’s so take your time and be willing to start over if you need to. Here are some tips to start you off:

1)      Practice drawing the line using a pencil – which is more forgiving than liquid – first. Our Essential Brightening Eyeliner in Black is perfect for this.

2)      Once you are happy with the line, go over with the blackest liquid you can find like our Essential Liquid Eyeliner in Black.

3)      Contrary to popular belief, you should actually keep your eye open when drawing the line and wing! This will ensure you get as close to the lash line as possible and that the wing is at the correct angle.

4)      Follow with two coats of our Studio Mineral Infused Mascara to get Brigitte’s perfectly defined lashes.

P.S. Our Studio Makeup Remover Pen is great for cleaning up and fixing mistakes without having to take off your entire eye look. Good luck!
