Beauty Shield SPF 50 Skin Shielding Primer is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Universal Tint..but does the job Everyone complaining about tint because it is Not universal. Depending on skin color, it can be awful but you either do not use alot or mix like others suggest. I’m a Black woman & it comes of chalky white, however I don’t put it on heavy and I wear it under my powders or foundation & I do love it because it keeps shine away & keeps my face makeup looking fresh all day. Its a heavy feel to me which I believe helps keep my powder or foundation in place. Only real complaint, outside of color, the container broke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Literally Perfect I bought this product because it was on sale at target. Girl, IT IS AMAZING. I'm super pale so when I saw it had a tint to it I was really nervous but it some how just blended right into the skin. I love love love it!!! I am usually someone who just doesn't use primers because they make me feel oily but this honestly just feels like a moisturizer. It smells amazing (tropical kind of) and the SPF is great (because again I am VERY pale). That's another thing, I have very senstive skin and usually get breakouts from fragrances and SPF but so far after about 2 months of use I haven't noticed any unusual breakouts. This product is one of my holy grails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever!! I bought this a week ago and it's the only product with spf that doesn't make my face look oily. I use it in the morning after applying the hydrating serum and my skin has never looked better. I love the fact it's made with zinc oxide. I am new to elf and now a customer for life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good as a bb sunscreen, not as a primer at first I was disappointed because I wanted a good primer that would blur pores while having zinc based spf. this product is NOT good for that. it just doesn't have the right consistency for a primer. however, I'm giving this good ratings because it's actually wonderful as a tinted sunscreen. I love zinc based sunscreens but they're so chalky and hard to rub in. this one is not. it applies easily like a tinted moisturizer that dries semi-matte. great for casual makeup days where I will be needing good spf. (just note that it's not water resistant, but that's ok by me.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from C'mon, people: use some common sense. People are all over complaining about the tint. If it's too light, mix with a darker foundation. If it's too dark, mix with a lighter foundation. Don't like the texture? Mix with one of the primers. I use this product every day, mixed with primer. It's perfect. And it costs 1/4 the price of the SPF 20 product I had been using.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this This is a great product. It’s a primer - quit complaining about the tint. I use beneath foundation or sometimes mix it in with darker drops and use as foundation. It smells great and has a wonderful texture. Don’t listen to the negative reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Universal?! Come on ELF, you’re better than that. There isn’t a “universal” tint. Others are complaining because it’s too light and I put this on and when direct sunlight hit me I looked orange! Back to the drawing board. Could it really be that difficult to make a sunscreen WITHOUT tint that doesn’t smell repulsive?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent this primer is not as hydrating and slippery as other e.l.f primers but I won't complain because of 25% zinc oxide and NO CHEMICAL sunscreens. I love the tint and the light coverage is perfect for the day I don't want heavy makeup. My skin is very dry skin so I mix this with some e.l.f. hydrating primer and it turns out exactly what I want! PLEASE e.l.f don't ever discontinue this product but if you change it a little like adding a moisturizingredient in the product to improve its hydrating proprety it would be awesome!

I am 53 years old, African American, my skin color, is the same as Will Smith wife, Jada Pickett smith. I have very oily skin. Is this primer good for me? Plus I have dark circle under my eye.

Asked by: BrownBooty
If you use it with foundation it might be okay, but there's a beige-y tint to it, so I think it'll leave a cast on your face. I have a light-medium skintone and it evens out my face perfectly, just to give you an idea!

The picture on the side throws me a bit...does it have a tint or is it transparent?

Asked by: ellam
Has a tint. But sheers out when you blend it in. It's a light beige I would say.

Is this primer only available online? I can't seem to find in at any stores in my area. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Asked by: dogmum
It's an online exclusive like most of the Beauty Shield line, from what I can tell. So for now, it won't be in any stores.

Is this primer tinted or does it come off clear on the skin?

Asked by: kathrose
It has some color. I am very light and it sheered out on me. I did put my foundation over it and it was fine. It is a light beige color but mostly goes away. Just evens out skin.

Since this is a primer, is it pretty dry on the skin? Also since it has zinc oxide, does it have a whitish cast?

Asked by: L Wauk
Yes and yes. I actually own this and I'm about a Mac NC 35-40. This leaves a horrible white cast and is way too dry for my dry skin.

When is this ever going to be available again? I've been waiting at least two months to be notified of the product being back in stock and nothing, sorry Elf but I'm going to have to go with another product since I'm out almost out of my other primer.
