Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too dry/hard I purchased the brown sugar, it doesn't glide at all, it is too dry and hard. The instructions say "Gently rub the lip exfoliator..." There is no way. Maybe if I microwave it first?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted. I ordered these in the Mint and Sweet Cherry. They both work great and my lips feel so smooth after.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does its job! Just got my latest e.l.f. order in the mail today and got two of these exfoliators; one in the clear/brown sugar and the sweet cherry. My lips *were*a bit flaky today so I immediately was wanting to try this product. I first tried the brown sugar, which applied nice and smoothly with a quick uncovering of sugar crystals that glides onto your lips as well. And just to test if the sweet cherry was the same quality, I wiped the brown sugar crystals off from my lips onto the back of my *clean* hand, then applied the sweet cherry. It gave the same effect as the brown sugar, but the sugar crystals are finer in this one, more like granulated sugar, unlike the brown sugar, which was more like sugar in the raw. Now knowing that about each product, I reapplied the brown sugar over the sweet cherry. I didn't use the small circular motion technique as instructed in the "how to use" section, but used my ring finger in a circular motion to give my lips a good scrub then just rubbed my lips together to scrub the dry spots off, then wiped clean again with the back of my hand. (I dunno if that's considered gross or unprofessional or whatever, but that is what I do for me, plus, the balm is like extra moisturizer for your hand, haha). Then follow up with a lip moisturizer/balm/chapstick. In conclusion, I like this product because it did what it was supposed to do and worked for me and my lips are no longer flaky! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great! I was on my way out of Old Navy from buying some cheap jeans and I saw this at the cash register. I just had to pick it up and give it a try because it was only $3 I decided it wouldn’t be that much if it didn’t work. This store only had brown sugar and the shade clear left. From what I can tell I believe they’re pretty much the exact same “shade” . As you can probably see from other photos, the exfoliate her comes in a lipstick form I just very convenient to use. I applied it to my lips like a normal lipstick, and at first it was a little bit hard to apply, but after I “scraped the top layer” it applied beautifully. It applies almost like a lip balm with some sugar in it. I did have to build it up a little bit to get a good amount of sugar on my lips. The application itself was exfoliating enough to where I didn’t feel the need to rub my lips in order for it to work, but out of habit I did for a second. This is not edible like some other lip scrubs, but I was able to taste a little bit of a sweet sugar. After applying I took a baby wipe and wipe off the excess product. Afterwords it left my lips feeling amazing. There was a *tad* of a sticky layer left on my lips, so I applied lip balm right away. I really really like this product, and the only reason I gave it four stars is because it smells a little bit like play dough which was kind of Off putting. My medicine leaves me with chronically dry lips, so if this works for me it should also work for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mint Mistake Bought this yesterday on a whim. Wish I'd read these reviews first and saved myself $3. The mint version of the product is horrible. No mint scent or flavor at all. Product smells awful and would not apply. Legit felt like I was rubbing a plastic toy lipstick over my lips as nothing was applying.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY MINT I bought the mint one and I was so excited because I have heard great things about it. And once I got it, it smelled so bad. It smelled like old glue and it was so stiff it broke when I tried to use it. I am scared to buy another one and try it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible I bought the brown sugar one. It was dry and stiff - it didnt glide easily at all. It was painful trying to use it on my lips. even after i tried to warm it up, it still was super hard and dry. I'm glad it's only $3 - what a waste.

Are all the flavors equally effective in exfoliating the lips, or are some more effective than others?

Asked by: Anonymous247
The Brown Sugar one is a little rougher than the others. With the rest of them the only difference is scent and flavour.

Is there a difference between the 3 different exfoliators?

Asked by: geronimo
Though there are more than 3, they all have a difference. Each is meant to smell like their name plus some even taste like it. Ex: Mint Maniac smells and kinda tastes like mint. As far as I've seen, they don't have a tint and some are better at keeping moisture than others.

Do any of the different flavors leave any sort of tint, or no? Worried about finding a flavor I like that won't tint a color I can't wear well

Asked by: Sunshine20
They don't leave any tint.

e.l.f. team please answer!! I have always seen reviews about there being a balm in the bottom. However, there were two holes on the bottom which leads me to believe it's simply to prevent the product from drying out. So, is it a balm or is it not???

Asked by: anamay117
YES!!! I ordered 5 of the Cherry Flavor from their website, and they all have a really nice balm at the bottom.  The only problem is I had to use a wrench to pry it open, which broke the plastic.  I'll use up the scrub and then pry the bottom off and scrape it to an empty container.  There's a decent amount, so it's worth it.  I wish elf would mention this in the description because I've thrown away about 6 containers before I realized the balm was there!
