2014 Met Gala Beauty Roundup!

Ah yes, my favorite time of year! The flowers are blooming, the weather is warming, and my favorite red carpet event of the year, the Met Gala, is upon us! While we know everyone in the universe has been obsessing over the wild fashion over the past week, here at e.l.f., we're much more focused on the beauty. A gorgeous ball gown calls for an equally-gorgeous look, right? Here are my top 5 beauty picks from last week's big event!

Her bold, berry lip is surprising for spring, but perfect for the big event. I love how she kept her eye makeup soft and simple. and let that gorgeous birdcage veil do all the talking! (And we LOVE accessorizing!) The crowning glory though, is her beautifully ethereal dewy skin. It looks incredible, she just glows!

Emma Stone (Much like another Emma we know...) was very pretty and pink at the Gala, from her dress to her lips. We were, however, surprised at her rust-colored smoky eye. Pleasantly surprised of course! It truly seems like softer, subtle makeup was the big hit of the night, and this shade really emphasizes Emma's lovely green eyes.

Emma wasn't the only one rocking a rusty brown smoky eye. Elizabeth Olsen wore the look too, matching it as well with minimal eyeliner and lots of sparkle. She also brought a similar shade down to her lips, much like Beyonce, a very surprising color for spring. Still, the burnt orange lipcolor is very reminiscent of the tangerine lip that is EVERYWHERE right now. Making an already sophisticated trend even more sophisticated? We love it!

With Nicole Richie's lilac hair the focal point of her whole beauty look, it makes sense that she kept her makeup fresh and simple. The taupe shadow has loads of shimmer for a very glam look, and we're loving her mile-high lashes! Pssst...for elfettes looking for skyhigh lashes of their own, we highly (See what I did there?) recommend the Studio Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara. A simple nude, glossy lip is all Nicole needs to look fierce while her hair does all the talkin'.

Model Joan Smalls had--hands down--my favorite beauty look of the night. Why? Because with all the fresh, neutral faces of the night, she took a huge risk with this electric-violet lip, and it worked. Much like Nicole Richie's locks, she let the purple be the focus, while still pulling out a beautifully-natual look on the eyes and face. Absolutely incredible.
