I bought Wine Not and Cruisin Chic, and I adore both of them. Wine Not is a very lovely metallic burgundy and Cruisin Chic is a shimmer taupe. Both are extremely creamy, smooth, and pigmented. I also tried Ain't That Sweet, which is creamy like the other colors, but is so light and barely pigmented that really it only looks like a light layer of shimmer on my eyelids, which for some might be exactly what they want but for me I like dark, solid pigmentation. I think that perhaps the light pink against my fair skin tone probably also contributed to its sheer appearance, however all of these would make excellent primers/bases for other eyeshadows. Very wonderful texture on these. However, it is important to work quickly with these because once they dry, they are definitely not going anywhere.
Date published: 2016-07-18

Rated 5 out of 5 by meggie07 from Beautiful Color I got this smudge pot in Ocean Bound. I use a "Smudge Brush" in order to apply the color. I found it works the best, as well as an angle brush for gently applying under the eye to give liner definition. I generally mix two complimenting colors for a smokey eye effect. Then, just as a stipple to help with blending, I always brush over all my eye makeup with a plain white eyeshadow. It lightens darker areas and defines the blend to make it look really silky. After applying it always gives off a little bit of a reflective and scaly sheen which I find really pretty. It feels like I'm dusting my eyes with gold.It is really hard to remove. I use several makeup removing towelettes as well as a washcloth with soap and it still doesn't feel like it's 100% removed. Which is nice when I think about it because then I know it doesn't wear off during long work days, but I also don't like the linger into the next day if I decide not to do my makeup.
Date published: 2016-07-16

Rated 1 out of 5 by alisonthomas4 from Don't bother buying I bought this a few months ago for prom. I live in Canada so ELF products aren't as easy to find.Got home and decided to test out my new products. I grabbed a brush and put some product on. FIRST: The pigmentation is VERY good.SECOND: It will not budge. I swatched it on to my hand and tried to remove it by roughly wiping my hand. Nothing. It simply did not move. After I applied it on to my eyes, I decided to test it again and rubbed my eye. Nothing moved and nothing transferred. (No primer applied before hand)THIRD: This product is SUPER BLENDABLE. I bought brownie points and I messily slapped it on to my lids. I grabbed a blending brush and buffed out the edges by my crease. The final result looks like a smokey eye I could have spent hours on when it reality, it only took me 30 seconds. OVERALL: This product is a must have. I have only had it for 3 hours and I am in love. Pigmentation, price, blend-ability, wear time and just about everything else makes this product amazing
Date published: 2016-07-06

Rated 5 out of 5 by emgee from LOVE these pots!! I have all of them except "hit the town" which may be discontinued(?) * Aint that sweet: it applies patchy, pretty pink shimmer color once its applied carefully* Back to basics: soft gold. I love this one. I like it paired with brownie points or wine not for an every day look. * Brownie points: sooo pretty! golden brown, very versitile. Highly recommend.* Coco cutie: very dark brown. this one is the least shimmery of them all. My usual waterline liner color. I've also used it as an eyeliner quite a lot. Stays on pretty well in the waterline* Cruisin chic: My go-to pot. Perfect base or all over color for a subtle look.* Gotta glow: One of my faves! Pop of gold. Goes well with brownie points for an accent color. Highly recommend* Ocean bound: I haven't used this one very much because I just haven't experimented with it. Pretty blue. I've used it for under eye lining a few times. It's a meh, probably pass. * Pearls of wisdom: My newest pot. This is now my holy grail inner eye highlight! I apply with the elf smudge brush. This one applies patchy like the aint that sweet, but once I get it on right it stays in place all day in the inner corner, even after a little crying spell! Highly recommend for that reason.* Poppin party: It looks so pretty in the pot. It applies so dark it's basically black after its blended. I guess it would work as a liner. I'll probably use it as an undereye liner. My advice is to pass on this color. If elf could remove the black base and make it a truer purple I'd LOVE it :(* Wine not: One of my faves! I love this one for under eye accent and paired with the back to basics for an everyday look. Has silver flecks that show up when blended. Highly recommend.I love the smudge pots and consider them elf's stand out make up product. $3 a pot?? WHAT? These babies stay in place all day long. For me there's nothing worse than spending so much time priming and applying killer eyeshadow and then it's faded or gone half way through the day (I'm looking at you, most powder shadows). These won't do that. ELF -- Pretty please bring back the Hit the town (grey color)!!! Also what about MATTE shades?
