e.l.f. Cosmetics Brand Collaborations: Where Beauty Meets the Unexpected

e.l.f. Cosmetics And Chipotle Collaboration

By Emma Izquierdo

When it comes to iconic collabs, we don't just think outside the box—we turn the box into a limited-edition makeup bag and sell it out. From burrito bowls to black eyeliner, iced coffee to indie rock energy, our e.l.f. brand collaborations are proof that beauty can (and should) have a personality. We’ve teamed up with brands you snack on, sip from, stream, and wear—creating drops that feel culture-first, community-powered, and 100% e.l.f.ing fun.

As one of the most loved Gen Z beauty brands out there, we know today’s beauty lovers want more than a product. They want a moment. A meme. A movement. And yes—makeup that performs without wrecking their wallet. That’s why our brand partnerships combine viral energy, accessible price points, and our always cruelty-free, vegan formulas. Ready to dive in? Let’s rewind the collabs that have changed the beauty game.

The Magic Behind e.l.f.’s Collaborations

Authenticity: First things first: we don’t really chase trends— we create them. Every partnership feels intentional, not random. Whether it’s a fast-casual favorite like Chipotle or a fashion staple like American Eagle, the connection makes sense because it reflects real fandoms. These aren’t surface-level logo swaps. They’re thoughtfully developed brand partnerships that tap into shared values: self-expression, accessibility, and cultural relevance. That authenticity is why the drops feel collectible—not gimmicky.

The Gen Z Connection: We understand that the Gen Z audience values humor, transparency, and inclusivity. Collaborations are built with that in mind—from shade names to campaign visuals to price points. Gen Z doesn’t want luxury gatekeeping. They want creativity, community, and cruelty-free formulas that align with their values. We deliver all three through every limited-edition launch.

Viral Social Media Moments: Great collabs are social-first. From Dunkin’ Dozen eyeshadows to edgy glam drops with Liquid Death, these collections are designed to spark conversation. And that viral momentum turns our e.l.f. limited edition collections into must-have moments—and often, instant sell-outs!

Accessibility Meets Premium Quality: Here’s the real power move—we make affordable makeup collaborations that feel high-end. By blending premium energy with accessible pricing, e.l.f. partnerships prove you don’t need a luxury markup to create luxury-level excitement!

2021: e.l.f. x Chipotle–When Burritos Met Beauty

In 2021, we asked ourselves a very important question: what if your burrito bowl matched your eye look? And just like that, Eyes. Chips. Face. was born—our deliciously bold collab with Chipotle. But we didn’t just slap a logo on a palette. We turned the entire menu into glam.

At the center of it all? The Eyes. Chips. Face. Eyeshadow Palette, a 12-shade feast inspired by real Chipotle ingredients—White Rice, Brown Rice, Pinto Beans, Black Beans, Sofritas, Fajitas, Mild Salsa, Green Salsa, Hot Salsa, Corn Salsa, Guac, and Lettuce — served up in matte, shimmer, and metallic finishes. Neutral base? Check. Spicy pop? Obviously.

We brought the heat with our Make It Hot Lip Gloss, a salsa-inspired shine that delivered bold color. And because we never forget the extras, we dropped the Extra Guac Face Sponge Set: an avocado-shaped sponge with angled and rounded sides, plus a mini pit-shaped sponge for those hard-to-reach spots.
To top it off? The Eyes. Chips. Face. Makeup Bag was designed to look just like Chipotle’s iconic chip bag. Oh, and every palette came with a code for free chips and guac because we believe in full-circle experiences!

Chipotle even created the first-ever beauty-inspired entrée: the “Eyes. Chips. Face. Bowl,” an all-vegan menu item curated by Trixie Mattel and Kim Chi, available exclusively in the Chipotle app. The cultural response? Major. We sold out in 72 hours and popped up everywhere from Good Morning America to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert!

2022: e.l.f. x Dunkin'–Wake Up & Make Up

In 2022, we brewed up a collab that proved one thing: we don’t just run on e.l.f.—we run on Dunkin'!

That year, we launched Wake Up & Make Up (aka e.l.f. Runs on Dunkin’)—the drop that turned your morning coffee order into your glam routine. If you love iced lattes and donut runs, this one was made to live rent-free in your makeup bag.

Front and center was The Dunkin’ Dozen Eyeshadow Set: three 4-pan mini palettes inspired by Strawberry Frosted with Sprinkles, Chocolate Frosted with Sprinkles, and Boston Kreme. That’s 12 total shades served up in matte, shimmer, and metallic finishes—sugary brights, rich browns, and creamy neutrals included.

We gave our cult-fave primer a sweet twist with Donut Forget Putty Primer, scented like fresh donuts (yes, really). Then came the Glazed for Days Lip Gloss Set: two high-shine glosses in Dunkin’s iconic pink and orange, with a bakery-fresh scent to match.

Need a prep step? Coffee Lip Scrub exfoliated with sugar and smelled like your morning brew. And the Strawberry Frosted with Sprinkles Face Sponge? A donut-shaped blending sponge topped with rainbow sprinkle vibes. Because subtle was not the assignment.

For the superfans, we dropped The Classic Dunkin’ Stack Vault: the full collection, three exclusive eye brushes (All Over Shadow, Eye Contour, and Blending) shaped like Dunkin’ straws, plus a reusable branded cup.

What made it extra iconic? Everything was scented like Dunkin’s signature coffee and donuts! The packaging also looked like actual donut boxes—complete with receipt-style seals.

2023: e.l.f. x American Eagle–Beauty Is in Your Jeans

In 2023, we stitched beauty straight into the seams of culture with Beauty Is in Your Jeans (aka Denim Daze), our fashion-forward collab with American Eagle.

At the heart of the collection was the Denim Daze Eyeshadow Palette: 12 ultra-blendable matte and shimmer shades inspired by your favorite jean fits—from “Mom Jeans” neutrals to bold, true-blue pops that gave main-character energy. Soft washes. Smoky indigos. Everyday staples with a twist.

Then we flipped the script with Perfect pHIT Lip Balm, a color-transforming balm that started as deep denim blue and shifted into a custom rosy pink based on your personal pH.

Next, we kept things cheeky (literally) with Get Cheeky Clay Mask, a denim-blue clay mask designed for dual use on face and butt—boosting hydration wherever you choose to glow.

For the collectors? The Beauty Is in Your Jeans Vault delivered the full lineup inside an exclusive denim carry-all bag made from real American Eagle jeans—complete with authentic pockets, a jean fly, and button closures.

What made this one extra iconic: it was American Eagle’s very first beauty partnership. We launched it with our “Take a BE.l.f.ie” campaign—a playful remix of selfie meets belfie—inviting our community to show off their glam alongside their AE denim.

2024: e.l.f. x Tinder— Put Your e.l.f. Out There

Our collaboration with Tinder launched in 2024, with our limited-edition "Put Your e.l.f. Out There" Vault collection.

This partnership brought together our brand and one of the world's most popular dating apps to create a collection designed to boost confidence and self-expression for singles navigating the dating scene, specifically targeting first-date jitters. We drew inspiration from research showing that 80% of singles reported that having a get-ready routine impacts their confidence on a first date.

The collection featured the Tinder Box Lip Trio, which contained two of our Glow Reviver nourishing lip oils, along with a Cream Glide mini lip liner in "Red-y for Anything.” We also included the "All Slick No Ick" Face Primer for creating a smooth makeup base, the "Set-Uationship" Setting Mist with a dewy finish to extend makeup wear, and the "Flame Changer" Makeup Bag for carrying essentials. The collaboration also offered our "It's a Match!" Stick Lippies as single-use lipsticks.

2024: e.l.f. x Liquid Death–Corpse Paint (First Drop)

In 2024, we did the unthinkable. We took cruelty-free glam and plunged it straight into the underworld with Corpse Paint—our unapologetically bold collab with the *very* popular water company, Liquid Death.

This wasn’t a soft launch. It was a full-volume, scream-it-from-the-stage moment. Together, we embraced a shared philosophy: normalize the bizarre. And we packaged it in the most extra way possible—a literal mini coffin.

Inside the Corpse Paint Vault, our limited-edition lineup included:

  • Dead Set Matte Magic Mist & Set Spray to lock in your look like it’s here for the afterlife

  • Kiss of Death O Face Satin Lipstick in All Night: a jet-black lip that refused to be ignored

  • Eye Dye No Budge Cream Eyeshadow in Wispy Cloud: a stark white cream eyeshadow for that high-contrast, corpse paint drama

  • Dead Line H20 Eyeliner Pen in an inky black

  • Brush with Death Putty Applicator for precision with attitude

Everything arrived nestled inside coffin-shaped packaging, fully committed to black metal aesthetics. We introduced the world to Glothar—our black metal mascot and chaotic-glam frontman of the campaign—and let the internet do what it does best!

2024: e.l.f. x Stanley–Stay Hydrated, Stay Gorgeous

In 2024, we asked: what if your hydration matched your lip combo? Enter e.l.f. x Stanley Quenchers—our glossy, glow-up collab with Stanley that turned the tumbler craze into a full-on beauty accessory moment.

We tapped straight into the viral Stanley era and gave it an e.l.f.ing twist—color-matching their iconic 40oz and 30oz Quencher H2.0 FlowState™ Tumblers to our best-selling Glow Reviver Lip Oil shades. Crystal Clear Night. Honey Talks. Jam Session. Red Delicious. Coral Fixation. Hydration, but make it coordinated.

And because we never stop at cute, we made it functional.

Out came the Tumbler Lip Oil Holder Accessory—a custom-designed mini tumbler charm sized to hold your Glow Reviver Lip Oil perfectly. Available in Honey Talks, Red Delicious, and Coral Fixation, it clipped right onto your Quencher so your lip refresh was always within arm’s reach. No digging through your bag. No dry-lip emergencies. What made this drop so special? It merged two viral obsessions—Stanley’s cult-fave tumblers and our glow-giving lip oils—into something playful and practical.

2026: e.l.f. x Liquid Death – Lip Embalms (Second Drop)

When we say we commit to the bit, we mean it. In 2026, we reunited with Liquid Death for round two—and this time, we embalmed your lips.

Lip Embalms are our twisted-cute evolution of the collab that proved the first sellout wasn’t a fluke. We expanded from full-face glam into on-the-go lip care, because even metalheads need moisture.

We dropped a lineup of e.l.f. x Liquid Death Lip Embalms in our Squeeze Me balm format, inspired by Liquid Death’s most iconic flavors: Severed Lime, Killer Cola, Doctor Death, Rest in Peach, and Sweet Reaper. Hydrating. Portable. Slightly unhinged (in the best way).

The macabre branding stayed loud, but the function got even stronger. These were toss-in-your-bag, swipe-anywhere essentials—proving that bizarre and practical can absolutely coexist.

And because we don’t just live in the beauty aisle, we brought it all to gaming. Inside e.l.f. UP! on Roblox, we launched a Liquid Death–themed portal featuring a multi-level obstacle course that got harder the higher you climbed. We also brought back Glothar (obviously), starring in a theatrical music video where our favorite black metal mascot serenaded the wholesome joys of lip balm.

2026: e.l.f. x H&M – Make It Make Scents

In 2026, we made our most unexpected move yet: we entered fragrance.

With Make It Make Scents, our groundbreaking partnership with H&M, we translated three of our most iconic product franchises into full-sensory experiences. It marked our first step into scent—and H&M’s first-ever beauty collaboration.

We bottled the energy of our cult faves and gave them fragrance form.

Power Grip Salty Drip was clean, cool, and confident—eucalyptus, cedarwood, and sea salt layered with bergamot, blackcurrant, jasmine, rose, and musk. Mineral freshness with main-character presence.

Halo Glow Luminous Cloud was sweet but elevated—magnolia, vanilla, and amber wrapped in brown sugar, coconut, and praline. A luminous floral-gourmand that felt like golden-hour skin.

Camo Blend Nude Canvas was warm, smooth, and addictive—vanilla, soft musk, and palo santo blending into a woody gourmand that transformed like your perfect base.

And because we don’t stop at spritz, we expanded into accessories with Power Grip Salty Grip Gripping Socks ($20), Halo Glow Luminous Cloud Charm ($20), and Camo Blend Nude Canvas Bowling Bag + Mini Bag ($40).

Functional fashion met beauty storytelling and suddenly, scent became part of the fit.

How to Get Your Hands On e.l.f. Collaboration Products Before They Sell Out

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our past drops, it’s this: blink and it’s gone. Our e.l.f. limited edition collections don’t sit around—they sprint. So if you want in before the internet breaks (again), here’s how to stay ahead of the sellout.

First things first: join our Beauty Squad, our free loyalty program and your official backstage pass to e.l.f. brand collaborations. Beauty Squad members often get early access to launches 24–48 hours before the general public. That’s right. While everyone else is refreshing their browser, you’re already checking out.

Perks include early access to limited-edition collections, points on every purchase, birthday gifts, and exclusive offers and promotions. Translation: it pays to be loyal. You can sign up free at elfcosmetics.com; it takes two minutes and could save you major heartbreak!

Next, follow us everywhere. We announce collaboration launches first on our social channels: Instagram (@elfcosmetics), TikTok (@elfyeah), Twitter (@elfcosmetics), and YouTube (e.l.f. Cosmetics). If it’s about to drop, that’s where you’ll hear it first.

And when we announce a launch date? Treat it like concert tickets. Mark your calendar. Set a phone alarm for 15 minutes before go-time. Log in early. Because when the next viral collab hits, you’ll want to be adding to cart—not adding to waitlist.
