6 EASY GROOMING AND SKINCARE TIPS FOR MEN
By Jeanette Crutchfield
A skincare routine is so important for men to invest in for their health and well-being. Taking care of oneself doesn’t just make you look better, it makes you feel better and can even boost self-confidence.
Whether looking for a face wash, cleanser, tools for grooming, or just want to start the day with a routine, you’re in the right place. It’s never too late to start a strong skincare and grooming routine. A good routine can be as simple as using a face cleanser and a moisturizer. Once you get comfortable incorporating new routines and products into your regimen, you can start to add other skincare products such as serums, face masks, and the list goes on.

Step 1: Cleanse and Moisturize
We recommend starting your skincare routine off with a fresh, clean face by using a facial cleanser. There are many different types of facial cleansers on the market, allowing you to pick one based off your skin needs. Depending on your skin type, you may choose a gel-based or cream-based cleanser, or maybe even a daily exfoliating cleanser.
Hydrating your skin daily is important for a healthy complexion. Using a facial moisturizer after you wash your face helps to lock in your hydration and keep your skin looking fresh and plump. There are different types of moisturizers based on your skin type including dry skin, oily skin, or acne prone. When applying, massage into your face and neck in an upward motion.
Step 2: Groom
Grooming your eyebrows regularly not only helps to open up your eyes and make you appear well-rested and awake, but also helps to frame your face.We recommend choosing an eyebrow kit if you’re new to grooming your eyebrows, as these usually contain a slanted tweezer and eyebrow scissors, making this step as simple as possible.
Start with gently brushing your brow hairs straight up. Trim any hairs extend above your natural brow hairline. Tweeze stray hairs at the root in the direction of hair grow to avoid breakage. You’re not trying to completely reshape your brows, just clean up and better define.
Step 3: Smooth
We all want smooth, shine-free, and blemish-free skin! Face primer is a helpful addition to your skincare routine that can help to minimize excess shine or large pores.
If you struggle with oily skin, we recommend trying a mattifying face primer. It has a super soft texture that can help smooth over imperfections, giving you an almost poreless look while absorbing excess oil.
If you have acne prone skin, we recommend trying an acne fighting primer. It has the same super soft feel as a matte face primer, but includes skin-loving ingredients like salicylic acid, zinc, and kaolin.
Step 4: Hold
Now that your eyebrows are trimmed and you skin is looking fresh, it’s time to put a little gel in your brows to help keep the hairs in place. Try a good clear brow gel that can help naturally define your brows, remains clear and not sticky giving your brows a glossy, well-groomed look that stays all day.
To apply the clear brow gel, remove the wand from the tube and wipe any excess gel off the spoolie (brush). Use the spoolie to brush the gel throughout your eyebrows helping them stay in place. Repeat on the other side. Remember to wipe the extra gel off the spoolie each time you pull it out of the tube to ensure you don’t get too much gel on your brows.
Step 5: Fill
Now that the brows are groomed, it’s possible they still look a little patchy in places. If you need to bulk up your brows a bit, a tinted brow gel can help. Some tinted eyebrow gels include ingredients like wax and fibers that adhere to your brows to make them look thicker and fuller.
Step 6: Sun Protection
The last step is sun protection. We recommend incorporating a daily sunscreen into your skincare routine.
There are many different forms of SPF to choose from, so choose the one that feels most convenient to you. If you prefer a more moisturizing, lotion-based product, try choosing a cream sunscreen. If you prefer a product that you can easily re-apply throughout the day, try choosing a spray sunscreen that you can simply mist over your skin when needed.
