Rated 5 out of 5 by from I always come back to this! I am 50 years old and have to be careful about getting cakey or crepey under the eyes. This powder is fantastic - it just gives the most gorgeous matte finish and is perfect for under the eyes. It might cause flashback but I have no need to worry about that. I try other powders that are cult favorites but I always come back to this one. I use the loose version. It isn't the best over oil so for touch ups I tend to use something else if I need it, but I don't usually need to touch up so that's a win!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to Handle I bought this a month ago and as new makeup user, the power is just too hard to use. It spills out

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaves a white shadow It leaves a white color it makes your makeup look ashy and dry even with a beauty blender or brush. It's not translucent at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from love I bought this because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on Laura Mercier powder anymore. This makes my makeup last so much longer than the Laura Mercier and looks more natural!! I love it. My only complaints are that there is very little product (.28oz?) and it's $6, so if you buy multiple to equal the common 1oz amount of other products, it would still end up being ~$20, which is not a drugstore price I'd prefer, but still better than $38 Laura Mercier. It's also extremely messy so I feel like I waste so much product. I apply with a beauty blender and it's still flying all around the room. If you only set specific parts of your face it will probably not be AS much of a hassle, but I always set my whole face so it gets very annoying. I think that has to do with how fine it is, which probably aids to the longevity and natural look, so I guess it's just a sacrifice that has to be made. I will still continue to use this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE!! I love this powder. Makes my foundation look flawless..it is a bit messy, but totally worth it. I've only tried the sheer, I'm in love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good! I was slightly apprehensive when buying this as it does contain talc, from experience you can normally see a noticeable difference in the colour of your foundation etc when using a talc based powder. I used an ELF primer under my normal (not ELF) foundation and it did not change the colour at all, I use a very light hand when using translucent powder. It has a silky feel to it and is very finely milled, which allows a very thin covering to be applied. It does come with a powder puff but I always use a brush when applying my makeup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived three breakdowns When I bought this powder, I was kinda skeptical because I’ve never really used setting powders before, only sprays. But I decided to give it a shot, and sis, it is most definetly worth it. This setting powder kept my makeup in place through three ugly crying meltdowns within a thirty minute span, including me rubbing away my tears with the back and my hand. I couldn’t recommend this more.

I am a medium brown mixed race lady, and I adore silica powders for their blurring and matifying properties. I do press into the t zone with my beauty blender - but lightly! Then dust around the rest of my face with a brush. Don't be heavy handed, a light dusting is all you need believe me. I use then use a real techniques setting brush to dust the powder under my eyes, around my nose crevices and on my oily eyelids too. This gets rid of any shine, but leaves the skin so smooth. I do my eyebrows, eyeshadow/liner afterwards, and this powder helps them to stay put. I find as the oils come through that they look natural, no tinted powder sitting in pores, no oxidisation and no changing foundation/concealer colour at all.

Say I put on BB cream and I look extra oily. Can using this product help get rid of the oily looking skin?

I have used this product for quite some time. I like the feel of my face and that it seems to absorb oil.  The problem is the glitter in the product. I’m not 15 and I don’t want the glitter. The sheer is so white that I don’t look healthy.

We suggest that you apply this sparingly and blend very well in a circular motion for all shades, and to avoid flashback (white), if you choose the Sheer shade.

What is the recommended way of setting the powder? I heard there's flashback but if you use it right there will not be any, so how would you apply this properly?

Asked by: saipy20
We suggest that you apply sparingly in a circular motion with a powder or kabuki brush and blend well.

Does this powder cause flashback? I've been looking for an affordable powder that doesn't and I'm hoping this is the one.

Asked by: mads060
When applied correctly and blended, this will not cause flashback.

When I use this product it flakes. I've used it over foundation and on bare skin, I applied it with the buff that comes with it, with a kabuki brush and I'm stunned at all the peeling and flakes I have to brush off my face. What's going on?

Asked by: aednyc
If you are using foundation or mousterizer that is oil based that would cause it to ball up.  Or if you use a setting spray before putting it on
