Rated 4 out of 5 by Fishie from Not a scam FIRST OF ALL: This product is NOT a scam like a lot of people are saying it is. They're jumping on the mob mentality train after a viral video, and they are misinformed. As long as you're not slathering a handful of the primer on your face each day, it will last you up to two months with daily use (it's only 6$. Get over it.) and contains the promised amount. If you truly want to see this ""scam"" debunked, go watch the "Responding to e.l.f. Primer Scam" on the Beauty News channel on youtube, they go into depth about it. Now for my thoughts on the product itself. I love how this feels and applies on my skin, it's so silky and wonderful, I could put it on all day long. However, it simply doesn't do wonders for me and my acne-plagued, oily skin. I don't see it filling in any fine lines or pores, though I do think it does make my foundation go on a bit smoother. Not enough to make me 100% sure it's not a placebo effect, but hey, I have the product now. I think this works for very specific skin types that aren't oily and acne-ridden. Which I'm not mad about considering they have so many different types of primers that I'm looking forward to trying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blanca16 from I use this every day! This is a very different primer that what I'm used to, but it absolutely does its job. It's different in that it's thick and creamy, and there is an immediate reduction in the appearance of pores. The creaminess allows it to be spread over the face very easily, which means you need less of it! I recently switched to Marc Jacobs foundation and I love it- but I was a bit disappointed because I was going through it so quickly for how expensive it was... until this primer came along! You need very little to let your foundation go a VERY LONG WAY! Just figure out the correct amount for your face and foundation. When I use too much of this primer, my foundation is streaky. When I use too little, my foundation doesn't spread as easily. When I use the right amount.. it's wonderful!!! I absolutely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AEM1 from Amazing product I bought this yesterday at Walmart. Great price amazing product. Was given a free sample through the mail when I ordered something online from someone else. It was from a company that makes more expensive makeup line. Their face primer felt very sticky on the skin. Waited several minutes for it to dry but it never did. Put on full makeup any way took it all off. Put you product on dried fast made skin smooth as silk. Will buy more and wear it even without any make up. Totally awsome product

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brunette785 from Best Primer This is the best primer I've ever used. I like it better than e.l.f.'s hydration primer (less greasy). My makeup lasts all day and still looks fresh even after hours of wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jbodi from Not for dry skin I bought this a year ago and found that anytime I used this under my makeup it just made my foundation kind of slide around on my face, if that makes sense. A friend of mine gave me a small container of POREfessional primer which made me get back into using primer, so I thought I'd give the e.l.f. primer a shot. Maybe it's just because of my skin because e.l.f. has such good quality, and it wasn't even until just now that I saw this says it's for controlling oil. If you have oily skin I'd say go for it. But for my dry pals, skip this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ordinaryGirl from Not enough oil control This primer was a major let-down. It claims to do many things such as minimize pores, smooth fine lines, control excess oils, improve wear of makeup, but I found that it did no such thing well at all. It is marketed as sort of a "jack of all trades" primer, but it is certainly no master of anything in particular. It did give a slightly smoother appearance to my skin after make up was applied, but its oily consistency never really "dried" on my face or soaked in. I use an anti-aging serum (which fully absorbs into my skin and leaves a matte finish), and I expected this supposedly lightweight primer to layer appropriately. Instead, I was left with an oily base on which to apply my foundation. Whatever, I thought, maybe it sets better later on. However, it made my foundation look bad and watered down. I noticed it did not have the medium coverage it normally has. As far as prolonging wear, I could not tell because my coverage was so light, it was hard to tell if it faded or not over the day. I think my makeup transferred just as badly as it would have with NO primer. I had to use several blotting sheets over the course of the day. I do have very oily skin, but I guess I thought it would have SOME type of oil control. It does not. Did not work for me at all and not worth the money considering you can get mattifying primers that have good collateral effects like pore/line smoothing for around the same price per ounce. I understand this is not marketed as a mattifying primer but it does list oil control as one of it's "effects." = not true. Probably best on dry skin because it does have an oily gel consistency.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kaykaybiah from Not impressed Ok I Love elf products. I use the green primer daily, but I thought I'd try this one. It is very smooth and silky, but it caused my pores to clog, it also made my skin feel greasy and my makeup wore off quicker than normal.

I have very dry skin. Never used primer. My foundation shows pores and dry patches. Advise? Figuring out which primer to use.
I had the same problem two years ago when I was 14! Use the hydrating primer and let it settle into your skin for maybe 2-4 minutes and then apply your foundation and you should be good to go. Good luck honey!
