Rated 4 out of 5 by Molly16548651 from Great quality brush- hard to use on the eyelids I have very dry skin and have switched to using all cream makeup (including cream eyeshadow) and setting powder. Looks great- if you have dry skin I highly suggest that. I bought this powder brush to use with the e.l.f setting powder and I love it for under my eyes and over the rest of my face. It picks up powder well, buffs it out well, and feels nice on my face. It covers a good amount of area, too, which makes for a really quick application of the powder. I deducted one star because it does not fit well on my eyelids (I have a small face/small eyelids and my eyes are deep set) to the point that I'm considering purchasing a separate powder brush for my eyelids. That's a liiiittle bit inconvenient because I prefer to use a very small number of brushes for every day makeup, but I imagine most people are using eye primer, a packing brush to set the primer, and then powder shadow so this brush not fitting well on the eyelids isn't going to impact most people. That's mostly an issue if you use cream eyeshadow. I have not experienced ANY issues with shedding or bristles falling out after washing this brush. My expensive MAC brushes shed far more than this brush does. I get this lightly damp, put a small drop of hand soap on my fingers and "washboard" the brush across them. Then I rinse super well, swirl the brush gently on a dry, fluffy towel to get rid of excess moisture, then dry it hanging upside down off my towel rack (I hang it up with a rubberband). I've washed this brush several times and have only seen like 3 bristles fall out. It dries very quickly after washing, too, which really encourages me to wash regularly like I should- I don't feel like I have to wait 2 days to be able to use it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PrevalentK from One of my best purchases I can't remember when I bought this brush, but I assure you it was ages ago. This is, by far, one of my most-used brushes ever - of all time. It is definitely multi-use. When one reads 'powder brush', they might think "Oh, loose powder. Okay, I can brush my bake off with that." But in reality, the name 'powder brush' is much more multi-faceted. Loose powder, compact - it matters not. This brush can do it all and I love it for that. It makes for a wonderful, flawless, airbrushed effect that is just so smooth and stunning for everyday glam or routine barely-there looks. Bronzer, blush, bake - it's perfect and it will remain in my arsenal until I die.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AThu from Do not like it Like a lot of elf brushes, this one changes shape after one or two washes and it makes my powder look very uneven.

Rated 4 out of 5 by liliumtigrinum from one of my best brushes this duo fiber brush could easily pass for a high end brush gets into all the angles of my face it is my favorite elf brush definitely one of my favorite elf products and I have about a handful of them only: Shimmer Highlighting Powder in Starlight Glow, Mixing Palm Palette, their regular $2 eyelash curler, Perfect Finish HD Powder, Artist Powder Puff and now this so 6 items in total and I have been using elf products since 2009. I have washed this brush many times and it does not shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nikkk from love this brush!!! love love love this brush! I had bought the elf powder brush at first with the purpose of using it to set my foundation. I thought the flat surface would be nice for allover setting powder on the face and is a pretty unique design. However, I found the brush was too dense (for my taste) and ended up being kind of prickly. I also was not able to use it on my nose/undereyes, defeating the purpose of having only one setting brush. This pointed powder brush is just what I was looking for! the sides are wide enough to be able to dip into setting powder and cover a majority of the cheeks, chin, and forehead in one sweep. The tip of the brush is great for undereyes and around the nose. This brush is a bit delicate so it works very well around the eyes and nose and for a light dusting of setting powder around the rest of the face. If you prefer something more dense, or maybe if you are using a powder foundation (without liquid) and want something that will provide more coverage, the powder brush is a good option. For setting the face with a light dusting of powder, this pointed powder brush is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Leddyfm from Perfect for Bronzer Absolutely love this brush! It’s super soft and fluffy, perfect for applying bronzer, especially if you prefer a more precise application. It diffuses the powder to an airbrush finish. I’ve washed this brush quite a few times since I’ve received it and it has not shed at all. I don’t know how ELF does it, but their brushes feel super luxurious, all while being cruelty free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mel98 from Fantastic So incredibly soft and fluffy! It works so well to set your whole face with powder because it gives an airbrush finish and doesn't disrupt the foundation underneath. It also works very well for bronzer/contour because it's tapered, for setting your under-eyes, and for applying blush. It's become my number 1 brush!

Could I use this to contour?
I feel that this brush could be used to bronze up your complexion but for a sharp contour I would recommend on of elf contour brushes.

Is this brush too big for Highlighting? And what are the measurements for this brush?
I personally think its to large and I feel it would cause the highlighter to go into unwanted places seeing it's size. Something that has the same shape but is more narrow is the highlighting brush or the small tapered brush.

Is this brush too big for blush? Looking for something similar to the E3 from Morphe
This brush is perfect for blush. Comparing it to the Morphe E3, this brush is more pointed and allows for more precise placement of blush. I LOVE this brush for bronzing because it blends as you go creating a very soft and natural look. Think Real Techniques blush brush with a more precise placement.

Is this brush vegan?
While this brush IS vegan, as are many others, unfortunately not all elf brushes are vegan (though it does seem that they are moving in that direction as anything newly released in the past few years is vegan.). In short the only non-vegan brushes are the least expensive - I believe all $1-2 - white-handled brushes in the "essentials" line, aka the oldest brushes in the elf line; there are a few in that line that are vegan but many aren't so it's best to steer clear. All brushes with black handles, as well as those w/ clear acrylic handles, ARE fully vegan. Hope that helps!

Is it a big powder brush?
Date published: 2017-09-01
How does the size and shape of this brush compare to the flawless face brush? Is it similar but smaller? Same density?
The flawless face brush is has shorter bristles and is round. This brush is more tapered and comes to a slight point. The density is very similar but this one has a little more "Give" to it, to disperse loose powders more evenly. All in all they are both great brushes and I use both of them. The flawless face i use more for buffing around bronzer or for a client that has oiling skin, because it is a little more dense then the pointed brush, so it will pick up more powder. The pointed powder brush I us for lightly patting powder on top of concealer, for a lighter finish. Of course you can us either brush for whatever you would like to us it for. I just thought that might help.
