Awesome
Over Several months I have purchased approximately 12 these retractable brushes. I am putting one in all my purses. You can not go wrong.

Kinda meh?
I mean it's alright in quality. I'm giving it a star off for it having a weird smell when I opened it (yeah, haven't cleaned it yet!), the package when retracted/closed is bigger than I expected, and the feel of the bush is not to my liking (it feels like the bristles are too long, yet kinda stiff). That being said, don't let this review turn you off of e.l.f. brushes!

Not bad but not great...
I was super excited for this retractible brush. And it does get the job done but it just isn't the best quality. Its quite lightweight... but for the price I can't really complain.

Sorry e.l.f.
Honest thoughts:
1. Packaging is sleek and I love the retractable feature! (That is my one star!)
2. The brush itself is just too stiff for my liking.
3. The brush hairs shed.
4. Repurchase? Sadly not this product.

Perfect to throw in a purse or travel bag. It's too small to replace a powder brush, but it's perfect for toughups.

I love this brush!
I've had my retractable kabuki brush for over a year (I know, I know!!!) And I'm finally reordering another one. When I first bought this one, the brush came out, but I just had to glue it back and no problems since then. Only buying a new one now because, well, hygiene. Highly, highly recommend!

Nice
I got this free in the Vacation gift. I was excited because Elf brushes are good quality. I like that it had a tube you pull up before putting on the lid so the bristles stay in. Some bristles were sticking out, but no big deal. This is a great size for blush, highlighter and bronzer. I like that the bristles aren't too dense because I'm still trying to learn how to contour and don't pick to too much product. It blends product pretty well too.

Loved it till it became unglued.
Bought this last year, loved the fact it fit in my smallest purse with ease. Could be used as more than one brush, when fully opened it could be used for bronzer or blush, and when semi opened it could double as a contour brush. It was soft and was easy to use. I had it for longer than I expected and the only reason I recently stopped using it was because the brush became unglued from the case. It can probably be reglued, but I'd rather just buy a new one.

I was so happy to purchase this brush for my purse and travel. However, right out of the box the brush doesn't go up or down. The bristles are out and obviously impossible to put the cap on. What I am missing?
There is an attached piece that you pull up to go over the bristles before you insert the cover.

Could you inform me of what material the case is made of? The bristles are synthetic taklon, but is the tube inside metal? Also is the outer shell metal or plastic? Specifics would be helpful, I'm doing a reverse engineering research project.
the outer shell is plastic, but the retractable tube is metal

Could this brush be used to contour?
Yes. Use it for powder when fully open & to contour have it slightly less so.
