Your Guide to Perfecting a Blue Eyeshadow Look
Have you ever picked out an eyeshadow palette because you love the shades, but then ignore a few because they look slightly intimidating to work with? We’ve all been there. There are always one or two eyeshadow shades that seem a little too bold for everyday use (we’re talking bright colors), but once you get the hang of it your eye makeup look will completely transform.
Today, we’re talking about a color that can complement almost any eye color when used correctly: blue! We’ve definitely skipped over a blue color in our eyeshadow palette before, and if you’ve done the same, we’re here to walk you through two different blue eyeshadow looks that anyone can try.
How to Create an Everyday Eye Look Using Blue Eyeshadow
To start off, grab your favorite fluffy eyeshadow brush and blend a nude eyeshadow from the upper lash line into the crease. Use a smudge brush to blend a little underneath your lower lashes. Using a small eyeshadow brush, blend a light, shimmery nude just under your brow bone to lift your entire eye look. Blend a little into the inner corner of your eyes to brighten your eyes.
Blend a blue eyeshadow of your choice in a C-shape at the outer corner of your eyes with a contour eyeshadow brush. Using your finger, pat a lighter blue eyeshadow onto the middle of your eyelid to finish off your eyeshadow.
PRO TIP: Add your favorite eyeliner and mascara to complete the look.
How to Create a Unique Eye Look Using Blue Eyeshadow
Using a small eyeshadow brush blend the blue eyeshadow onto your eye lid from the upper lash line and into the crease. Dust off any extra product from your brush. Using the same small eyeshadow brush, blend a little, more neutral shade just under your brow bone to lift your entire eye look. Blend a little into the inner corner of your eyes and just under the lower lash line.
Grab a crease eyeshadow brush and blend a darker blue shade into your crease. Using your small eyeshadow brush again, blend a bit of that same blue darker shade along the outer third of your lower lash line. Blend a lighter blue eyeshadow in a C-shape on the outer corners of your eye lids with your crease brush.
Using a thin, angled brush and a darker eyeshadow, line the upper lash line and the outer third of the lower lash line. Blend softly with a small eyeshadow brush. Use your finger to pat a little a shimmery blue shade onto the middle of your eyelid to finish off your eyeshadow.
