19 Piece Brush Set is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect set for those starting off These are excellent starter brushes for the price. However, the ferrel (sp?) is now starting to get a bit loose on some of my most used brushes. I do clean them carefully but I am a beginner, so I might just be doing it wrong. In any case, these will probably end up lasting me a year, and I will most likely repurchase them and get a set for my much younger sister as well, so she can practice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid everyday set for the price! After purchasing 3 individual elf brushes I decided to give this set a try. I love how most of these brushes are black so they don't look dirty after just a few uses. I also am a fan of how SOFT these brushes are on the skin. My personal favorites are the contour brush, the blush brush, both of the highlighter brushes and the big fluffy face brushes in general. However, and maybe because they are so soft, I don't get a lot of use out of the eye brushes. The blending brush was just a little too flimsy and in general I just have brushes that get the job done smoother. The angled tip brush is not thin enough to get a precise line when you're trying to do eyeliner or eyebrows. So towards the right side of the roll gets a little neglected but overall I think the face brushes alone are worth the $50 for a solid everyday set. On a busy morning I just roll it up and pop it in my bag it's surprisingly portable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality! I got these for Christmas and 7 months of everyday use later they are still as soft and look the same as the day I got them. I highly recommend these if you're looking for affordable high quality brushes

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money. I just received these brushes and they're useless. They're too flimsy and they put don't product on evenly. My make up looked so blotchy and horrible I actually took it off with a makeup wipe and started over using my old brushes. I'm so disappointed, I really wanted to love these. I will never buy brushes online again.

Asked by: Ceeloco
I'm not 100% sure since I live in Canada and there is no e.l.f stores around me. But, I'm pretty sure that they do sell them if not they definitely sell them individually. All depending on whats in stock at certain stores near you. Although they don't sell some particular sets in Walmart or

Can you make/is there any other colors for the "complete" brush set? Ex. Pink? :D

Asked by: Malibu_Girl
No but go to the craft store and paint them if you really want them to be a different color

I don't own an ounce of makeup. I am looking to purchase some brushes. Would you recommend these as a good starter? Do you think there are not enough or more than enough brushes? Feedback would be appreciated.

I think that this set would be the perfect way to start off a brand new makeup collection. In fact, I wish that I had started out with a full set like this all at once rather than gather one or two here and there from different places. There is literally a brush for every makeup application included in this set and there may be one or two that you don't need (for example, I personally don't contour but sometimes I use a contour brush for something other than what it is designed for) so it's always good to just hang on to it. I have my everyday use brushes all together in one little container and my backup/extra brushes in another and let me tell you, it's a lifesaver to have a specific brush on hand when you need it! A good brush specific to the makeup you are applying is half the battle, the right brush makes all the difference in proper application. Initially the price may seem like a lot but believe me, I have so many high-end brushes that I have spent a small fortune on and a set like this is definitely a good investment. Even if you don't plan on wearing makeup everyday, these brushes will last you a very long time if you take care of them (wash regularly as needed, clean between uses and in-between washings with the e.l.f. Brush Cleaner). All the e.l.f. brushes I have tried really hold their own and get the job done. I say go for it!

In the description it says there are only 18 brushes, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the last brush is? (Below where it's talking about how to use each brush)

What are the brushes made of (fiber)?  Are they synthetic, or fur, or are different brushes made from different things?  Thanks!

Asked by: superkk
The brushes are all manufactured from synthetic material and are suitable for vegan use.

what are the bristles made of? are they synthetic?

Asked by: sonjam
Just to clarify, while elf IS cruelty-free & has many vegan options not everything is vegan.  Re: brushes, this brush, as well as all of the studio line (black) & beautifully precise (clear/ silver) brushes ARE synthetic/ vegan, most of the essential line (white) brushes are made of animal hair & are thus NOT vegan (& thus to many, including me, in no way cruelty-free, but technically the label "cruelty-free" in re: to brands & products refers only to the absence of animal testing & does not say anything re: ingredients/ materials).
