I really liked the primer, until I figured out the primer is only in the silver pump and not the actually bottle. It's extremely disappointing. I thought I was buying a full bottle of primer.

WHY DOES IT PEEL
I bought this a few days ago and was very excited about it. Unfortunately I cannot use it without it peeling, my concealer peeling, and my foundation. They end up in little pills all over my face. Why is this happening??

Made my acne a 100% worse
I got both this primer and contour for a Xmas present because I suffered with acne all the way through my teens. It was a lot better but I always struggled finding an acne safe brand. I thought elf was because it was promoted as an acne safe brand and products on socials. It was lovely for the first few days but then my acne really badly flared. I tried to swap out all my other makeup steps hoping that it wasn’t my new elf products as I wanted them to work, but I stopped using the primer and liquid contour from elf and my acne has improved but my scars are still visible. I’m really disappointed and I feel like this product has been misadvertised.

Okay, not exactly as advertised
Issue #1: The product is not tinted green. It looks green in the bottle but it comes out pure white. It dries completely clear so it does nothing to help hide red spots or discoloration. Issue #2: People with blemishes often have uneven skin, with craters or enlarged pores. I would expect a product geared towards that to help smooth my face out. It's too thin to do that, in fact it doesn't smooth out my face or my makeup at all. This is a good product for people without blemishes, unevenness, etc. If you have perfect skin and want something light to help keep your makeup on then this is for you. As for me, I will stick with mixing my two old primers together for help with my blemishes.

Terrible
I had the exact same problem with the calming water cream sadly. For the few days that this product did work, I found it significantly improved my acne but sadly it began peeling terribly almost instantly after application, no matter how long I left it to dry. This formula has serious hope but the peeling makes it impossible to use.

I don't think this prevents acne.
I haven't experienced any peeling like other reviewers have said, but I feel like it doesn't do as advertised. It goes on nicely, but my skin becomes oily by the end of the night which has caused mini break outs. I love ELF products so I am going to try another.

Can't even use
I bought this a while ago and used it max three times because it peels off. People mentioned it could be related to the foundation you use, but it creates some sort of eraser dust on your face as you apply it. I didn't even get to apply foundation because it doesn't distribute well, it dries up and starts rolling up or whatever.

Hi there! I have used the light ivory satin foundation. I may have missed it but don’t see it. What is suggested to use if that was my color? Thank you :-)

You may be using a bit too much at a time. We recommend a pea sized amount.

Does this has to be used with makeup/foundation ? Can I use by itself?

You can use it by itself. It is not a requirement to apply makeup afterward. I, personally, use it without makeup.

Do you have to wash this off or do you have to leave it on. Also, I have acne and I used this everyday after washing my face but I used and left it on and I think it made me break out more because I think I have to wash it off.

This should be applied after cleansing and left on. Individual results may vary but it should not increase break outs.

We would suggest our Hydrating or Mineral Infused Face Primers for you, along with a Hydrating Primer Mist or Serum. Please also check our skin care finder to see other skin care recommended for dry skin.
