Summer air makes for dry hair! Between the heat, chlorine, and sun damage our hair gets tortured during the summer months. A good way to take care of this problem is by using a hair mask every 1-2 weeks. A hair mask is similar to a face mask- you douse your hair in the cream and let all of the moisturizing ingredients penetrate the hair. The time spent with leaving the mask in (about an hour or so) is well worth the results and can even be made at home! Here’s our recipe for a Homemade Hair Mask:

1/2 cup of Honey

1 Egg Yolk

4 tbs of Olive Oil

A shower cap or junkie t-shirt

(double the recipe if you have long hair)

Put on your junkie old t-shirt or keep a shower cap handy to make this fun project a little easier to clean. Mix the ingredients above together and apply to damp hair from root to tips. Let the mixture sit for at least 30 min (although I recommend leaving it on for a full hour). Rinse out the mixture with cold or room temperature water and wash hair as you normally would with shampoo and conditioner. The result are amazing, chemical free, and perfect for thirsty hair! Happy Summer 🙂
