problems with the formula and pigment

first off, just want to say that if you're simply looking for a sparkly liquid eyeshadow, this is a good product at a great price. in that case, it's a 4.5-star product. however, if you're looking for a true duochrome flip with a sturdy formulation, this is not the right product for you. i was looking for a true duochrome with a good formula, which is why i gave this 2 stars. first of all the colors. mer-mazing is pretty but it's INCREDIBLY weak and subtle. you have to be up really close in the exact right kind of light to see any kind of color flip. if you're going for a subtle and sheered out effect, it's great. that's not what i want from a duochrome. the venus envy color straight up just looks white/silver. that's it. even up really close and under bright led lights of different shades, i could barely detect even the slightest bit of color shift. the formulation on this one at least makes it so that it has a better payoff (not sheer), but honestly the bright whitish silver looks bad with such stark contrast. for reference, i have light-to-medium skin with neutral undertones the formula is in a weird in between place where it's too easily spread, yet also too quick drying.

Love the bright colors and the sparkle! Just have to remember to put a base down if you really want the colors to pop.

"MER-MAZING" IS AMAZING!!

Usually, color shifting eyeshadow products are quite expensive, but these pack a serious color shifting punch for a very fair price!! I was left stunned by how cool the color shift was on the shade "mer-mazing"! I put it on in my inner corner and then took the product around the eye above the crease in a cat eye shape and went out in the sunlight to see what it would look like in natural lighting... let's just say that I couldn't stop looking in the mirror at the really cool color shifting effect that seemed to shift from green to purple. It looked awesome in the sunlight and when I moved my head in different directions it turned different shades. So cool! I wasn't expecting such a high performing product for an affordable price. This product exceeded my expectations and blew me away to the point where I want to order the newest shade because they are that stunning. This was initially a product i bought that i didn't expect much of, but now i will find much use for it. I find liquid shadows the best for hooded eyes like mine. Us severe hooded eye people can't do too many fun eyeshadow looks or cut crease looks, so this allows us to not sacrifice the creativity and still gives a special look to the eye make up. I hope they don't ever discontinue the other liquid eyeshadows available on their site. I see people complaining about the littlest things when the products are very affordable. A good way to get things discontinued for the rest of us who actually enjoy the products and see nothing to complain about. Go spend money with stilla for their liquid shadows then! Have fun spending 20 to 30 bucks for ONE liquid eyeshadow which to me makes the company look like they are money hungry. Im happy with these. I think they are great quality for the price. They may not last for all day wear, but it's a very small thing to complain about when color shifting eye products are not this affordable with other brands who mainly only care about money and who don't listen to their customers like elf does. Elf is the only company who has ever made me feel heard. I think the price for this product is very much worth it. Can't wait to wear this shade in the summer. Im sure I will recieve many compliments like I seem to whenever I wear elf products!! If you are looking for a color shifting product, you have nothing to lose with this eyeshadow. I've only tried one shade so far and was not disappointed. This product was better than I expected it to be. Thank you elf for another banger!!

fun and easy to use

Alright, so I picked this up on a whim because it looked super pretty in the tube—and yeah, I’m a sucker for anything shimmery that changes color in the light. I grabbed the shade Extraterrestrial and it’s honestly really fun. It goes on smooth, blends out easily with just a finger, and once it dries down, it stays put. No creasing, no smudging—surprisingly good wear for a budget product The shimmer is noticeable but not over-the-top, so you can keep it subtle or build it up if you want to be a little extra. Not crazy pigmented in one swipe, but I didn’t mind that Overall, for the price, it’s a win.

Fun little eyeshadow

I don't often purchase liquid eyeshadow due to the formulas often irritate my eyes. I thought these looked super cute and use them for my inner corner with no issues. I also used over my mascara to do something different and it was a subtle shift of color which was fun.

Amazing, looks so good on my eyelids and I love the way it changes colour in the light. Really easy to apply and very pigmented.
