Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not gooey and stays in place I have these pens in several colors and they're my favorite type of "lipstick." The color stays where you put it, they're great for lining then filling in, and I top it with a bit of plain lip balm. I'm sorry it's offered in so few colors now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I've had this for a couple years and I think it is the best lip product out there. It takes a couple tries to figure out but you basically are using a marker to draw on lipstick. If feels like nothing, tastes like nothing, and only comes off with water. I put on a layer of chapstick tp protect it and then it just feels like I'm wearing chapstick. The color i bought isnt the greatest on me, and I wish they still had more colors because i love this whole idea.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome This stuff is pretty much all I'll use on my lips. I absolutely hate lipstick, it's too heavy and cakey, and just gross to wear. But as much as I love this stuff... What ever happened to the lip stain sticks that company JANE used to make? It was SO good. Looked like a lipstick (in the tube), went on super sheer, felt like nothing on your lips, and the color literally STAINED your lips. I mean, it was actually hard to completely remove at night. Because it actually STAINED your skin. And it very looked like you're own lips were whatever color you used. ELF, please...seriously... look into something like that? This lip stain you've got here is one of the best I've tried (since JANE discontinued their lip stain lipstick, and apparently went out of business...), but all the current lip 'stains' do these days is give your lips a, "stained look," and don't ACTUALLY stain anything. Pretty please... give us actual lip stain? That'd be cool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I tried! I really did! I don't think I've ever given e.l.f. a 1-star rating before. Maybe once. But this is pitiful! Fortunately it was only $0.80 on sale when I bought it. Okay, so the concept is good, and for a minute I thought it might work. It's like a sharpie for the lips, or maybe a highlighter. It should give just a stain that enhances natural color. Great idea. . . if it worked. Now I will take responsibility for not having the youngest, most smooth, plumpest lips (the scar down my top lip attests to it being busted years ago), but my lips are pretty decent, not full of lines, and moisturized. But try as I might, I could STILL not get this stuff to apply evenly. It would gather in dark spots and then be barely visible elsewhere. If I tried to go over the top, it left a dark line where the layers overlapped. I don't know if it was a blessing or curse that it didn't last, but whatever it was, the stuff didn't even seem to show up after 30 minutes. And what in the world were they thinking with that pointy tip? Who's got lips that thin? Yeah, a definite no-go for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I HAD to find it! I have been purchasing this product (both colors) for years, after using several other (expensive) lip stains. I love this one. When I stopped finding it at Target, I thought it had been discontinued. I got online to stock up, and I am thankful to see it is still available for purchase!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting I’m sad to see the low scores for this product and fear they may discontinue it! That would be terrible as this is a great stain with real staying power that you can draw very precisely onto the lips with. It is a hit drying but I always follow it up with a creamy gloss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like color and no gloss. This is wonderful. I like lip tint which has no gloss or lipstick. This product is pure color and no surface gloss or lipstick. I like it.

I'm so lost. Trying to find an e.l.f. lip product with some staying power. I saw this lip stain, read reviews, and wondering if the smell itself is being addressed and why does the stain dry out so fast? Is it meant to be a trial size?

Asked by: myroses
It is not meant to be trial size, and I had no problem with it drying out.

How do you remove it? My makeup remover wipe didn't remove it and it didn't wear off.

Asked by: Eileen L
I also couldn't remove it with my typical makeup removers (baby oil and coconut oil). Saliva took it off in a second, so just lick your lips liberally and wipe away with a tissue. It might take a couple tries to get it all off. I was shocked that makeup remover didn't take it off, but spit did.

I love the stain, but how do you get it to the tip? Example, with a pencil, you would sharpen it.

Asked by: Dee Hayes
Store it upside down.
