The Liquid Highlight I Was Looking For

I was looking for a blinding liquid highlight to use for special occasions and this. Is. It. First I tried the Elf highlighting stick and that was very light and natural. I would be comfortable wearing that to work, but it wasn't what I was looking for in terms of special occasions. This definitely was. You can do a really light application and blend it out so it looks nice and natural, or you can build it up to the point that it literally looks like you have silver shimmer liquid eyeshadow on your cheek. I initially tried putting this on underneath my foundation since that's how I have to wear the highlighting stick. I put on a lot since I knew the foundation would tone it way down. It showed through decently but once I set my face with translucent powder it disappeared. Then I tried putting it on top of my foundation and it worked like a charm. The translucent powder still toned it down, but it didn't disappear and it was still very shimmery. The shimmer is so fine and gorgeous. I apply this with a MAC brush that's very stubby, flat, and wide (but also dense/fluffy) that was sold to me as an undereye concealer brush. It blends so nicely and looks great. It by far beats out my powder highlights- but you can also set this with your powder highlight if you really want to strobe it out! It has a smell to it (but a pleasant one) and feels a little sticky/like lipgloss, but once you blend it and it has a chance to dry down that feeling goes away.

Blinding highlight but strange liquid

I bought this a month ago and loved it at first, the highlight was blinding but then when I started to open the product but then a strange white liquid started to come out. It was thin and shiny. I think it might have been the highlighter separating.

I bought the shade 'gold star'. I was expecting a glowy golden liquid highlight for medium to medium-dark skin. This product has a rust coloured base with golden glitter/shimmer throughout. The contrast between the 2 colours is quite strong and a questionable choice. In direct light, it swatches a bright golden but in the dark the orange liquid is very visible. When applied to the skin, the orange cast is quite visible no matter how hard you try to blend it out. If you don't like a glittery highlight, this product is not for you. One thing is that it sets very quickly. This means that is quite long lasting but its best to apply in small sections to avoid patchiness.

I wouldn’t recommend

This was a free gift from Elf when I made a purchase. I was really glad that I didn’t pay for it. I hate writing bad reviews but I really did not like this one. It’s incredibly liquidity. I tried to use it and as soon as I tipped it to use it it a lot poured out onto the floor. I actually wouldn’t even give it one star but you have to have a star rating.

Bought this on amazon

The product looked sickening in the package, however when I got it I went to go use it and the product was separated. When I put it on my face it made my foundation separate.

Comparable to Jeffree Star Liquid Frost

LOVE this! Super pigmented and beautiful. Put a powder highlight on top for a really snatched highlight.

Formula separated

I really wanted to like this highlighter, but it was all seperated and weird. It's like half (mostly) clear water and half a thick, oily substance with the in it. If I want to use it at all, I have to shake it up, squeeze it out until I get some of the oily stuff to come out and then either just use the oily stuff as is, or try to kinda mix together the oil and water on my hand, then use it, but it inevitably comes out patchy. The bright, cool, intense highlighter seemed like a lot of fun to play play with, like maybe as an inner eye pop, a liner, or for an intensely highlighted look, but unfortunately I could barely use it. I thought at first that I had gotten an old one or something, but after reading the reviews, it seems I'm not the only one to have this problem. I haven't tried mixing it with some other medium, like a moisturizer, to try and "split the difference" between the oil and water, but I'm not sure what to use that both would be miscible in.

Weird texture

The product comes out super liquidy and at first I couldn't figure out if I was getting any of the actual highlighter out or just the mixing medium. Turns out that is the actual texture and it's just like a thick glitter paste mixed with some water? I don't know it looked kind of separated to me and I had to mix it on the back of my hand to get anything to look mildly like a cohesive highlight.

This is just glitter

This is literally just liquid glitter, its so intense there is nothing natural about it. If you're looking for an extreme glitter look then this is perfect! If you want something kind of natural that gives you a highlight without big sparkles this is not for you.

Very Watery, Can't Work With

This was very messy and watery and literally couldn't apply in the garbage. You need to use a lot and a silver ish tone will appear and it does work but it's not worth the time.
