Rated 4 out of 5 by from Apparently The Mint's formula changed? I've tried this in Brown Sugar. Loved it. I've also tried it in Mint. It was amazing as well. I will say, that I tried them when they first came out... so I find it sad that everyone is getting the bad version of the mint because the original formula was really good. I'm glad I read these reviews because I was about to throw Mint into my cart but I passed on that and I purchased Coconut instead. It better be good lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I think I'll always have this This is a great product that I didn't even know I needed! I'm turning 43 this month, and while I'm quite youthful, there are some maintenance things that I'm thinking about. One of them is preserving my rather lovely lips. I have full, natural lips that are one of my best features, and I love showing them off with bold lips. I got this as part of a free gift from my first order (I had bought e.l.f in-store before as well as on Amazon), and it is now a staple in my cosmetics go-to bag (which I ironically ALSO got from that order). This has granules of sugar in it, and is quite moisturizing. There is just enough resistance (that is, it's not too soft) so that you can actually gently exfoliate just by applying this. If you need more, you can rub a finger over it and work the granules in. I like to apply this when I put on my moisturizer so it has time to moisturize my lips before I put on my lip color at the end of my makeup. I'm eager to try the mint and grapefruit and maybe coconut versions. So when I run out, I'll order one of the others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Originally love, but now Disappointed. . . Purchased a couple of these. Did not use it for a while. Tried to use the other day and it was dried up, hard as a rock and hurt to use it. Plus it now tastes really bad as in the oil tastes rancid or just old.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this about 3 weeks ago, i was not satisfied. It was hard, smelled like old crayons, when i tried to apply it, all it did slant to one side. It was not minty at all when i was finally able to get some on my lips, out of all of the things i got i was probably the most excited about this product and ended up very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I am very mad I recently got this lip scrub and as soon as I opened it it feel on the ground and I could not use it I had this product before and it was amazing I used it every time I put matte lipstick on but I’m very upset with what I got

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Eh... I got Mint Maniac at a nearby store and I was looking forward to trying this product. Upon first use, the stick was very waxy and would not leave any product on my lips. I tried the product with my lips damp and with them dry but no luck. Unfortunately, the product broke at the base whilst I was trying to get product on my lips. In an attempt to solve the problem I melted the broken end with a lighter and stuck it back on. As a last resort, I melted the tip of the lip exfoliator and waited for it to cool down before trying one last time. The product then worked and left product on my lips which actually did a pretty good job at exfoliating.

Does the mint maniac version contain actual mint or a menthol derivative?

Asked by: Angel665b
There is no mint or menthol in the actual ingredients, however there are mint and menthol in the fragrance that is added for this product.

Are all the flavors equally effective in exfoliating the lips, or are some more effective than others?

Asked by: Anonymous247
The Brown Sugar one is a little rougher than the others. With the rest of them the only difference is scent and flavour.

Is there a difference between the 3 different exfoliators?

Asked by: geronimo
Though there are more than 3, they all have a difference. Each is meant to smell like their name plus some even taste like it. Ex: Mint Maniac smells and kinda tastes like mint. As far as I've seen, they don't have a tint and some are better at keeping moisture than others.

Do any of the different flavors leave any sort of tint, or no? Worried about finding a flavor I like that won't tint a color I can't wear well

Asked by: Sunshine20
They don't leave any tint.

e.l.f. team please answer!! I have always seen reviews about there being a balm in the bottom. However, there were two holes on the bottom which leads me to believe it's simply to prevent the product from drying out. So, is it a balm or is it not???

Asked by: anamay117
YES!!! I ordered 5 of the Cherry Flavor from their website, and they all have a really nice balm at the bottom.  The only problem is I had to use a wrench to pry it open, which broke the plastic.  I'll use up the scrub and then pry the bottom off and scrape it to an empty container.  There's a decent amount, so it's worth it.  I wish elf would mention this in the description because I've thrown away about 6 containers before I realized the balm was there!
