Lock On Foundation Glue is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended Everyone’s skin is different but I have pretty normal skin. I got this primer in the mail today and was excited to try it but it is terrible. It is not smooth. It feels like putting glue on your face. It is very hard to spread on your face. Once you put foundation over it, it’s sort of peels off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly Wonderful Product This primer is incredible! I followed the directions and the tips in other reviewers comments who had successfully used it. And, yes, it is a little strange to use at first, but it really works! I clean and moisturize my face, let the moisturizer settle in, then apply the primer and let it dry, then pat my liquid foundation on blending with little taps of a sponge...the new, black sparkly sponge works really well. I learned that "swiping" foundation as I do over a silicone primer does not work as well as a "patting" technique. Because, the foundation adheres so well, it covers imperfections well (much less concealer required). I live in Arizona and have definitely noticed that my skin stays moist under this primer too...a big plus! And, of course, it really does lock my foundation in place ALL day! Love it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glue is right! This is thick and sticky and very difficult to dispense and apply. It feels very tacky on which makes it uncomfortable. And strangely, despite all the sticky feel, it doesn't work! My makeup faded as quickly as usual. Save your money and pass on this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I just bought this and I love it. It might be my new favorite primer. I can't believe how well it keeps my makeup in place and lasts all day without looking blotchy. My makeup does not rub off if I touch my face. I read the directions before buying so I knew that it would be sticky at first which takes some getting used to but it really isn't bad. I found that by warming it up in my hands a little before applying and then making sure I warm it up on my face that it does melt onto my skin with little issue. My makeup routine allows for dry time and I just pat it over to make sure it isn't overly sticky before applying my foundation. After the foundation is on, my skin is not sticky or tight at all. The little extra work involved is so worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! I love this primer. It really helps with my oily skin. I think it takes a bit getting use to when applying it, but when you get it, you wont want to use anything else. I think the texture throws people off because they are use to silicone primers that are slippery and this primer is tacky, Use patting motions not rubbing ones and you will find it goes on better, I have really oily skin and nothing else has worked. This helped and made my makeup last longer without getting oily or breaking down. I am on my third tube and hope they never discontinue this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised I was very surprised that when I put it on my face, it was very sticky and I guess that’s why it’s called lock on foundation glue. I guess I will get used to it. I just didn’t expect the thick and sticky consistency.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elf new face lock on primer I am a ELEFFE, I am so happy I bought this product, it does exactly what it says, it does hold your foundation in place like glue, and make your make-up look fabulous ,i just went on to their site to see if they still have this product to stock up ..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I honestly don't understand this product The first time I used this primer I made the mistake of applying my foundation before the primer was completely dry, it made my foundation bunch up and peel off the way glue would peel off of your hands when you were a little kid. The second time I used it I made sure that it was completely dry and even then I hated the way my makeup was sitting on my skin, not to mention it made me break out after 6 hours of wear (this was the only new product I was using). Overall a huge letdown.

Is this primer good for dry or “mature” skin?  Does it fill in fine lines or accentuate them?

Asked by: Desertheat
Please, don't buy. These reviews must be for some other product. It feels nice on your hand in the store but when you put it on your face.... A totally different story. Wait a bit after applying to your hand then look at it. Dry crepey mess. The texture is like gorilla snot. I fell for this awful product and can't use for anything else. :(

This primer is not specifically formulated to minimize pores, its primary use is to refresh and hydrate your skin and result in your makeup lasting longer.

I am finding this primer difficult to apply. It doesn't soften as I try to apply it to my skin. Is there a way to make sure it softens so that it can spread easier? Thanks!

Asked by: Brightfox
Let me preface this by saying I have not used this primer yet, however I use a $42 glue-like primer by J.One (if E.L.F.'s is similar for $8.00 I am a happy girl!) and the best way to use it is to gently pat the product into your skin. Rubbing does not work it only causes it to ball up. The warmth of your fingers should help. I usually put a pump on the back of my hand, tap some onto my index and pointer fingers and just start patting my face as if you were applying an essence. You don't want to mix up the formula because that is what will grab and hold your foundation. Sorry for the long reply.

I didn't have difficulty applying this primer.  I only apply one pump and I allow it to sit on my face for a few minutes before applying my foundation.  However, it peels off as soon as I apply my foundation.  What am I doing wrong?

Asked by: LStulberg
The directions say to let it sit for only 30 seconds, and the product needs to retain some of its tackiness to work. Letting it sit for too long is probably why your foundation is peeling.
