Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pigmented I was surprised how well pigmented this palette was. Although some of the lighter colors don't show up too well on my skin tone (dark). But over all its a good quality palette for the price. I would recommend this for beginners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Colored Palette This one I wasn't too sure about but I did find myself liking it more except for one shade which is that last blue one on the right. It was honestly patch and felt chalky, it was not soft like all the others, but to me, that doesn't devalue it anymore, just means I have to work with it more. I have "Nude Mood" and "Summer Breeze" and I got this one from my mom when it was on sale a while back. I really like the greys in here. With every shadow, I always recommend using an eyeshadow base/ primer to give the shadows a fighting chance. I have oily eyelids so they destroy everything I put on them. Also, the blues can stain the skin a bit. With all the Elf palettes that I currently own and expect from other ones I get in the future, the thing I always say is that I like the fact that they are not overly pigmented or soft to the point that it gets everywhere and that they are buildable. It's not a $40 palette so you can't expect it to perform like one, but it still works fantastic. I've been able to get great looks out of this palette from a decent warm look to a neutral grey look. So all the other shades are good, just that one blue on the far right is pretty terrible, but I look forward to seeing if I can make it work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Came broken When I seen the eyeshadow I was in love until I went to use it and seen that my product was broken and cracked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Muddy mess. I own every single one of these 10 shade Elf palettes, and this is the only one I do not like. The only shades that aren’t patchy are the grays and the orangey shade, the rest are terrible! The blue and green shades specifically are a muddy mess, and they are the whole reason I got this palette (the other colors can be found similarly in other palettes). They do not blend whatsoever, and they end up looking like the same color, with is a muddy gross gray shade. Skip this and buy literally any other one of these palettes, because the others are great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pigmentation I’m rather new to doing nice makeup, and this is one of my favorite palettes I’ve ever tried. I honestly have way too much fun with it.

Did you purchase the minimum needed for free shipping? Today (Jul 2017), $25 is the minimum.

Are these colors all in the brown family or do I see some mauves?

Asked by: criss
There is variation. Go to youtube and look for a tutorial on the palette -- people who post tutorials swatch the shadows on their forearm so you can see how they look on skin.

I bought the mad for matte eye shadow and love the color 4th from the left side....can I purchase that color in a single shadow???

Asked by: laurie2323
Please read the QA before ou pst, because at least one other person has asked this question. These shadows aren't sold separately; your best bet would be to go to a dept. store, or Sephora, or Ulta with the palette -- someplace with testers -- and look for something similar.

What size is this palette? Like the dimensions? I want to know if I can travel with it

Asked by: Dollarstorechic
Check yt for tutorials that show the actual palette. I just watched one, and it looks like it's about 2 inches by 5.5 inches (I couldn't gauge the depth -- maybe 0.5 inches). The woman I watched praised its compact size - said it's easy to pop into a pocket.

Is this eyeshadow creamy?  I love my Urban Decay Naked Palette because the shadow just glides on,  but $63 for an eyeshadow palette for a beginner is a bit much, so I'm looking for a dupe.  Does this compare?

Asked by: Hannalp
Please check the QA before posting -- someone addressed this two years ago. Here's her answer: JennJayBee · 2 years ago I've used both Urban Decay and ELF shadows and actually own the Naked 2 palette. (I prefer that to the original, and Naked 3's blushes and the Smokey palette just weren't for me.) It's definitely NOT going to be the same as the UD Naked palettes. The formulas are vastly different. ELF shadows are typically much more powdery in texture and have less pigment, while UD shadows have a creamier feel, and a little will go a lot further due to them being so pigmented. And as someone pointed out, the Naked palettes include shimmery shades. The UD seems expensive at $54, but it's a bargain when considering the cost of individual shadows. Plus, as I've mentioned, a little does go a long way with higher quality shadows. You'll also get a nice brush with the palette and a sample of UD's eyelid primers. That said, ELF stacks up pretty well with other drugstore brands. While you'll need to apply more, the pigment is still wonderful for the price. I recommend using a good eye primer (and ELF has some really good ones that I find comparable to high end brands) to get the most out of them. I'd say this is a good, solid palette that you can get many uses out of-- from an every day look to a more dramatic smokey eye. In that way, it's very much like the Naked palettes. If you want more shimmery shades, you can add a palette that includes those colors to this one and still come out $34 cheaper than the UD palette. Heck, you can get five of these ELF palettes and still save $4 for the price you'd pay for the UD palette-- which is what I love about ELF. It provides you with good quality makeup at a great price, so you can try out new things without killing your wallet.

Which collection works best for someone over 60 yrs. Old? I'm thinking the matte but not certain. Thanks
