Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! It's good for everyday use. It's great for a natural look and it's easy to apply. The only problem that I have is that the container is too shallow, the balls comes out easy. I just transferred it to a deeper container and works better for me. Other than that I'm very satisfied with this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Got a dud Between the product description and the reviews I thought this would be perfect to supplement my 'sunscreen and setting powder' makeup routine. I'm very pale, but I though if I removed the darkest pearls I can customise my shade. I'll never know. Basically, this is a way to apply small random specks of glitter to your face. The box, unlike the site, says sheer, and it is. I've used it with both elf's mineral powder brush and the (quality but totally wrong for the product) puff and all that happens is I'll see a chunk of glitter accenting the texture of my forehead or cheek. On the brush, it appears like a gentle highlight powder but doesn't give an even glow when applied, and on the puff, the colours don't blend and you get patches from each shade of pearl. I'm going to give this one last try when I'm next wearing full liquid foundation, but I think I just got one with a bad formula. I had such high hopes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Natural, all-over glow! I received this as a Christmas gift and have really loved the way it looks on my face. Although it is listed as a highlighter, I haven't found it as useful in that way as I have using it after setting powder to give my face a natural glow. I haven't found a setting powder that works for me yet, but when I use this as an all-over face powder, it makes it look as if I had - the makeup melts onto my skin. It has also mostly stayed this way for 14+ hours of wear without any (!) touchups. The only real downside I can find with this product is often the pearls get stuck in the bristles of my brush and when I lift my brush out of the pan they fall out of it, usually into a damp sink or on the floor where they are likely to break. I've found that drying the pearls with a towel or napkin keeps them functioning fine, though, and that broken pearls are only a problem if they are crushed into a powder - that's when it gets messy. I also have very sensitive skin and this product hasn't made me break out at all or have any other reaction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I have been buying this for a few years and I absolutely love it. It adds a nice soft color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty, soft glow The pearls provide a soft glowy finish. I use it after my setting powder to soften the look and accentuate high points. Amazing value too. Thank you e.l.f.!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for me I bought this as an alternative to the Allgenist color correct powder. This is difficult to use. I swirl my brush over the pearls and at least one of the pearls always gets stuck in my brush and ends up falling out on the floor. I tried to take a few out and crush it up but that gets messy. And after all that, I don't notice the difference. I recently discovered that ELF also has a tone correcting powder, which I tried and like MUCH better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting with Issues I purchased the skin balancing pearls. As they come they don't put out much powder at all. Maybe I just use too much powder, I don't know. To fix that I probably did a terrible thing and crushed the pearls about half down. The powder itself does balance my skin tone, and does not irritate my skin in anyway. However, it is extremely messy this way, which I'll admit is not as intended and the lid is extremely loose so I don't even keep it with my other makeup. If it looks fun to you, might be worth trying, but I can't really recommend it.

Hi, I was wondering if both products come with an applicator?

Asked by: Natalie_Rose
This does not include an applicator. We suggest a powder, blending or kabuki brush.

I'm really pale and just getting into makeup. I prefer matte, natural stuff. Could you wear this without foundation or concealer?

Asked by: shush
hey "shush"! I own the skin balancing pearls and I as well have pale skin. I am 14 and I don't wear much skin makeup either and I definitely think this is great even without skin makeup! It has the slightest bit of shimmer from the white pearls but it isn't even noticeable. It is not powdery at all! recommend it all the way

What is the difference between the natural and the skin balancing and when should you use them

Asked by: kiki3858
Hey! I recently bought the skin balancing one and I love it. The skin balancing color corrects but has a translucent white finish. This is great for if you have pale skin like me. I'm not sure if it works on darker skin, but I am sure the natural does. My friend owns the natural one and it is a bronzy glow for darker skin. I love this product and I 10/10 recommend it!

Where on earth is the mineral line?! The mineral products were the reason I started buying from elf in the first place. There seems to be something fishy here. I was convinced that the mineral products were amongst your top sellers.

Asked by: LindaB73
Same here! I bought from there for their mineral line. I had no idea they were discontinuing these products. I just loved these loose powders for overall foundation and blush. This stinks! Now I'll have to look for something to replace it. Please bring these back!!

I see that it comes in plastic!! Do I take it out? How to use it

Asked by: Ural
Yeah, you have to open up the bag and put it into the container. When I got mine, it was a tad messy but nothing I couldn't handle. And I don't recommend to use the powder puff they give you. I just use a kabuki brush

Hi. I have a skin balancing one. Is it ok that I apply this after my foundation? It is not supposed to replace my foundation right?

Asked by: JoanneL
I use the skin balancing one after my foundation to set it and I love it. I still use a heavier setting powder for like under my eyes, but this works great for me. I use the total face brush from Elf (or any big fluffy brush) and just brush it all over. I do not believe this is supposed to replace your foundation, there isnt much coverage to it. For me it seems to be perfect to use this way and still balances my color a bit without getting cakey/ powdery or too matte. Hope this helps!

Hi, i used to use the ELF loose mineral foundation and concealers but you don't seem to sell them in the UK shop anymore. i wonder what alternative you would suggest. i'm no good with liquid type foundations and need something to help control shine.

Asked by: Sarah Spencer
I used to use the mineral powders and got all weepy (and wrote in about it!!) when I learned they'd been discontinued.  I loved blending my own "color" using them. That said, I tried both of these pearls (the light colored ones and the tan colored ones) and have been Really Happy using the white/blue/pink ones on some darker areas (dark eye area and areas with any "problems") after putting a bit of coverup (the one in the flat tube) and then using the tan colors for all over light color.  I have olive skin and these work really well for me.  I'd like the mineral powders to come back, but am happy with this in the meantime!
