Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought this on 2/17/19 at the E.L.F. Store. I tried it on the next day and it was kinda hard to put on bc it was thick

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Semi-Painful I love E.L.F products so I was excited to try this. However, the mask is a tad painful to remove once fully dry. I do recommend making expressions to help loosen the product from your skin. It does seem to be effective. The price is affordable and I don't have any problems with the glitter creating a residue. It does take a while to dry, though. Thin layers won't be easy to peel. A thicker layer works well and avoid the hairline, under eyes and by your ears if you're sensitive to pain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a great peel! Pros: 1. I love how open and honest ELF is with their ingredients (this is very important to someone who lives with #allergies like I do), this one has #charcoal #witchhazel #lavender #meadowfoam 2. No smell!!! 3. It works, it really works One the fence: 1. Glitter? Cool when it goes on, but it stayed with me for hours after taking the mask off. 2. This mask takes 30 minutes. I’m not sure how I rate that. Cons: 1. As it dries, it got really tight. I could barely open my mouth. 2. It comes off hard. It does just peel off. It wanted the top layer of skin. I broke down after half way through and took it off with a warm wet wash cloth. I’ll definitely try it one more time, but this wasn’t a favorite.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So So Ok, I gave this a 3 because it really did have my skin feeling amazing afterwards. I was very impressed. I could also see where it had cleaned some pores out especially on my nose. It’s going to hurt... it’s a peel off mask. I personally get rid of my baby hair weekly and it doesn’t hurt as bad as what everyone is complaining about in the reviews. My only con was that it left sparkles on my face. That might not be a problem for some, but I don’t want a sparkly face. I’m to old to have sparkles everywhere. I tried to get them off with a makeup wipe and my daily face scrub... they didn’t come off though. Other than that issue, I loved the mask!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it I bought it hoping it would be an effective mask that actually grabs on, I was not disappointed. I will agree it was a little harsh on my under eyes but the rest was amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for me. I don’t know why this product has so many bad reviews. To get the best results you really have to make sure you’re applying a thick enough layer. Leave it on til it dries and it comes off fairly easy. You can actually see what it pulls out of your skin when you remove it. Leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth after. It’s worked wonders for me & I plan on re-purchasing. Especially since it’s so affordable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Took forever I bought this because I wanted to try another of elf’s brand face mask. I bought the charcoal bubble mask and it was amazing! Buuuuuuuuut not this one. I put a thick layer on my face like instructed. My lanta! It took forever to get a fraction off my face. I gave up and scrubbed it off. Now I’m faced with a glitter face and it won’t come off. I guess I’m going to sparkle for work now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why is the glitter necessary? It's so silly how Instagram drives marketing. The glitter is ridiculous, but it's fun, and so whatevs. Anyhow, I got this one in the 5-mask sample set of the little tubes. It's one of those black masks that is supposed to adhere to the impurities in your pores and pull everything out nicely. But in my opinion, they aren't all that unique or special. And am I the only one to realize how racist this concept seems? I mean, I'm a white girl living in Haiti. I only use this one (or others like it) with my door closed and no one is allowed to see the process! But to the performance . . . It goes on rather thick for what it is (compared to some others I've tried), but not bad. It dries and pulls tight like the others. But a big difference is that this one REALLY sticks to itself. Like it doesn't break like so many other gel masks and other peel-off masks have done. That being said, because it sticks so well, it is borderline excruciating to remove. It's like it doesn't want to come off, but just wants to hang out there forever, sucking up all the nasty stuff from my pores. No dear, you have to come off. I'm not teaching my classes like that! Once I got it off, I did the whole check-to-see-if-there-is-gunk-stuck-to-the-back-side-of-the-mask deal, and there did seem to be little white hairs kinda like when the pore strips get removed. But based on how hard it was to pull off, that might have been hairs being removed from my face too! I've only used it once, and I'll use it up. But don't think I'd repurchase. There's to many other options that I prefer.

does this actually work?

Asked by: jackie887
Absolutely not. It doesn’t peel off very well and leaves glitter all over the place. Don’t waste the money.
