Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as eye shadow primer or to wear alone! I bought this in sheer about a month ago and I LOVE it! It works wonderfully as an eye shadow primer and I can even wear it alone! I dot it on my eye lid and then blend it out with my pinky finger. It holds eye shadow in place and I see less creasing. It will also work great just under, or above, the eye brow as a highlighter. In addition, it does not bother my contact lenses!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wasn't expecting the glitter I bought this and was not expecting the glitter, thought it would just be white. Also it gets really chunky really quickly, with just a little more than a thin layer. It did help with the pigment, but not a lot. You get what you pay for, it's not the best but if you want something cheap, this is the one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don’t like the glitter, otherwise OK I bought this in Pearl, thinking it was just white. There’s some kind of glitter in it though, and there’s a couple of large “chunks” I have to remove every time I apply it, like little white squares. That being said, matte shadows hide the glitter just fine. My eyeshadow stays in place. I’ll try the Sheer next time around.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not really a fan of the pearl I have the sheer shadow lock eyelid primer. So I thought it would be a good ideal to get it in pearl. I have the jewel pop eyeshadow so I thought it would make the colors pop more. It was so patchie the colors didn't go on good at all. I'm sad I couldn't make this work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good primer I absolutely love the shade sheer for priming my eyes I feel like my shadow applies nicely and stays put. As for the shade ivory I would not recommend it’s very chalky, patchy, also most glittery, and patches. I also wish this product lasted longer before running out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sheer is for oily eyelids. This is honestly one of their most overlooked product. I love it so much. From what I’ve concluded from reviews and my own trial of this product is that the sheer one is for oily eyelids and the pearl one is for dry eyelids.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to do Got this a month far it's been doing what it's supposed to do. Eyeshadow stays put throughout the day. 4 years ago, when I started to get into makeup, I would make impulse purchases at Sephora basing it on what the youtube gurus would recommend at the time.. which was the urban decay eyeshadow potion. Let me tell you, I wish I knew about Elf Cosmetics back then and what options I had for a lower price point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Drying I have dry skin. When I applied it, it literally showed all of my dry patches on my eyelid. It felt like it was one of those gel exfoliators used on the face to help peel off the dry/dirty skin. For dry skin, I tried the glitter primer, and that worked out just fine.

Is this primer goes on matte or shimmery? I read some reviews that says glittery, so I want to ask people who has used it before: does it look glittery after it is dried?

Asked by: cathy45
The pearl Is a subtle glittery and I LOVE IT!!!  I’m using it now in place of my white eyeshadow!!

what is the purpose of the difference in the colors?

I'm assuming the different shades are meant for different skin tones. Sheer, tan, and cocoa are probably for light, medium, and darker skin tones and meant to be used as a primer base that would match the skin, probably good for lighter more natural eyeshadows and the pearl which is white would help to make other more unnatural colors pop but pearl could also be used for all colors of course. But some people may want to use a primer that matches their skin

Do any of the shads tint your eyelid?

Asked by: helen366
I've only used the sheer one and it won't interfere with any shadow if you give it some seconds to dry

I don't know whether i should get sheer or pearl, which one works best for pale skin?

Asked by: Freya G
I've only tried the sheer in this product. Personal I think it still had some creaseing to it. I'm also very pale but could almost use it for eye concelor. My thing is it still had a crease. Also I think all the eyeshadow faded just as fast as before almost .but I've only tried sheer .i love elf products and services and use lots of them I believe in a true review.

Does this primer hide creepiness in eyes over 60?

Asked by: Beeb
Truthful no I have used the sheer which is a light color I'm very pale and light in color and could almost use it as an eye concealer. I don't know about other colors but have read in reviews that all but sheer have some irrderference in them also I really like most of the elf products Ive tried but this also left some crease for me. After a while.
