Rated 5 out of 5 by from my favourite product ever tbh no need to bother with high end stuff, this is my favourite product from elf so far! wow, a little really does go a long way. i cleaned over 10 brushes with one small pump. it's ridiculous as to how much product and junk can get caught up in brushes. i've never seen my brushes brand new like that before! all the glitter and eyeshadows and product all came off super easily, with like one swipe! there's no scent that i have noticed in my opinion, but i love the shampoo so much! i use several brushes everyday for doing makeup and will buy the daily cleanser to help with that and use this once a week for a deep cleansing. loved it so much i purchased another!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great!!! This shampoo cleans beauty sponges amazingly. I used to use regular dish soap to clean my beauty sponges and they would be clean of product but would still be stained. Ever since I started using this, it completely cleans the sponge, even getting rid of stains. I have even waited to clean the sponge until a day after I used it when the foundation was dry and it still was completely clean. I did have to keep applying the soap each time I rinsed off the sponge (had to wash a few times to get everything out) but regardless it got everything off with little effort and time. Like a few others have mentioned there isn't a whole lot of product. I shampoo my brushes every few weeks or so and use the daily cleaner in between, and I have already used about half of the bottle of shampoo. However it is only $3 so not very expensive to repurchase and you don't feel as bad using a lot of shampoo as compared to if you were to buy an expensive one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I ❤❤❤ this cleaner! I purchased this cleaner because other cleaners are ridiculously priced for small amounts and are not versatile. You either have a liquidy brush cleaner, a thick blender cleaner, or a soap bar/circle. I have a small cleaner and use this in it after diluting. I use it straight to clean my blender. I use it straight to clean my brushes individually. PROS: -Thick. -Conditioning. -Effective. Effective. Effective. -Pleasant/light fragrance. -No residue. -Non greasy. -Great price. -Thorough clean. CONS: -Small bottle

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really works! I bought this because my brushes were looking dingy. I wet a washcloth and rubbed some shampoo into it and then placed it on my hand and swirled the brushes on the shampoo. Then rinsed the bristles, and then let them dry on a clean washcloth. And they looked brand NEW!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An absolute must I first bought this awhile ago and I really love it a lot. I've always been highly impressed with how clean it gets my brushes. I also use it on my applicator sponges and it works wonders as well. This product is a MUST for taking care of your brushes and keeping them fresh and nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better then expected! I bought this thinking "really, a shampoo for my makeup brushes". Then I thought about the last time I washed them and it's been a long time. So I got everything together, I even have the big black brush cleaner that you wash them with, tried it and let my brushed dry overnight. I have to say e.l.f. you know what your doing! Not only did my brushes look brand new, they smelled great and they seamed softer! Love this product and will buy more when I need it,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff is my favourite product on the planet at the moment. You only need a tiny bit for several brushes and it totally makes my brushes look and feel like they're brand new. Amazing.

What is the difference between the brush cleaner and brush shampoo? are they essentially the same thing or provide different benefits?

Asked by: krocke
The brush cleaner is a spray meant to be used daily for a quick clean. You do not use water with it, all you do is spray the dry brushes and wipe them off on a towel and repeat until the brushes have no more product. The brush shampoo is meant for a deep clean. You wash the brushes with soap and water, and obviously they need time to dry (usually takes a full day of sitting out for me), so you wouldn't do this every day. I have both the cleaner and the shampoo. I don't use makeup everyday but I try to use the spray brush cleaner after every time I use my brushes. I do a full shampoo of my brushes every few weeks or until they start to look like they need a shampoo, but the spray cleaner works well in the meantime when I can't use the shampoo.

If you never clean your makeup brushes for 30 years do you blame the brush shampoo when your brushes fall apart? There is a bad review here of a customer who complained of this. Isn't it more likely that a 30 year old brushes wore out?

Asked by: Deedeeann
yes, that is an extremely rare case. if you take care of your brushes to begin with, this soap should not ruin them. I have only used it on Elf brushes but it cleans them as well as my real techniques sponge very well.

How do you use this to wash and dry brushes effectively?

Asked by: Beauty447
All you do is squeeze a small amount of cleaner on the palm of your hand, then swish the brush until for a second.  The. Rise until water and voila the brush is clean.  Then let it air dry on a paper towel.  I have been using this for a few years and love it.  Effective and cost effective too.
