Additional Information

Mascara & Shadow Shield is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from wrong shape This might be good for someone with round eyes, but not for almond eyes. It doesn't fit, no matter how I try to get it to. So it doesn't shield from smudges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eyelid Savior I am not the best at applying mascara (in other words, I seem to get mascara on my eyelid every application, without fail, no matter what technique I try). I use this shield it to protect eyeshadow looks I create and even when I have a bare eyelid. The silicone on this product is quite flexible, so I start by holding the handle like a pen and then use my fingers to bend the silicone to fit the shape of my eye, and then press the curved edge right up to my lash line and use it to slightly pull my eyelashes up, so that I can really get in there with mascara all the way to the roots. It works wonderfully and is very easy to manipulate, and very easy to clean!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favorite When I saw this I thought it would be a great idea. I find that it is just too difficult to use...perhaps I lack the ambidexterity to use this while applying eye makeup. I think for people who do a winged liner it might be very useful....Just not for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Used it for catching glitter I bought this to do a friends make up and the look involved glitter. I had her hold it under her eye while I applied the glitter to her lid. It caught majority of the glitter. It was quite flimsy and didn't fit the eye well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Far too flimsy to be of any use Having read the reviews beforehand, I was well aware that some customers complained that this shield was too flimsy, but since it was so cheap, I thought I'd give it a go anyway. After receiving it, the silicone IS too floppy and flimsy to be useful at all. However, my toddler son loves to hold it and wave it around like a wand, so at least it's getting some use, after all!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So much better than a tissue! I got this a few months ago with my first ever order from elf. I really like this tool. It did take a little getting used to, but I was able figure it out pretty quickly. Previously, I would use a tissue and try to balance it with one hand and as I applied my mascara with the other. I actually didn't know what the smaller end was for at first, but then I figured out it is supposed to be for those tiny little lashes in the corners of the eyes. I am giving this 4 starts and not 5 because I think I would like this tool better if it did not have the smaller end on it, I find it a bit cumbersome and usually don't use it. I have read some complaints about it not being rigid (too soft). That is another reason I like it so much, because it is soft and flexible. That way, one can place it and bend/flex it to fit their own unique eye shape. I find it nice to use and it is easy to clean, just wipe the excess mascara off while it is still wet (since I use waterproof, if it dries I have to use makeup remover). Overall I think this is a great tool to have and despite me never having seen it offered by any other company, I'm sure no other company can beat elf's prices!

Can you use this to get the perfect cat eye too? And where are you holding this? Over your lid?

Asked by: Bombshell
Hold it under your eye to catch fall out. You could use it as a guide for your eyeliner wing if it helps you. I've heard some people use tape for that too

ELF, any chance of releasing a dupe for the Liner Designer only as a set to use simultaneously for doing different yeliner looks?
