Rated 4 out of 5 by from works I liked the way my foundation went on over this product but it has a weird smell. the smell eventually goes away and it helps to keep the foundation and concealer in place through the day. I have oily skin and it does its job but my skin actually was a little dry from this. I will be using a moisturizer before this from now on. Overall, works exactly as described!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth it If you struggle with oily skin around the T-zone and cheeks, this is for you. Only slight con is that you have to reapply a couple times during the day to keep the matte look

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ran out after 4-5 uses I wrote a review and then tried to update it, but there's no way to edit or update a review (a shame, and e.l.f. should fix that). Anyhow, turns out BOTH reviews got deleted. So, I'll try this again. I am an oily girl living in Haiti. I am always looking for ways to keep me from looking like I got hit by an oil-slick by mid-day. At first I thought this might be it, but it really seemed to be just okay, not spectacular. However, the problem came from the fact that only 4 or 5 uses in (I swear it was no more than that), the thing was absolutely dry! How in the world do you pay this much, even for a budget line, and it only lasts 4 or 5 uses? And this isn't the only elf problem I've had like that. I have the under-eye roller ball refresh thingy, and I really like it, but again, I used it less than a dozen times and it's empty. Come on, guys! Cut me some slack here! I LOVE e.l.f.! But I don't like throwing money away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually Works!! I have bought many products that claim to aid with oiliness but many to none can actually do what they claim. I put this primer up against LAGirl primer spray for 3 days side by side and the elf product did 1,000 times better each day! I also put it up against AOA, Milani, and Ulta Beauty brand. This oil primer out did all the other primers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smells awful and doesn't stop oil I bought this more than a month ago and was so excited to try it out. Turns out it smells to high heaven-- honestly, it reminds me of burning rubber. Just awful. Add to that, I haven't noticed any differences in it keep my skin from getting oily. My cat hates the smell of it on me too and has ceased seeking attention from me if I put it on. To me, it's not worth the love I've lost with my cat by smelling like a dumpster fire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oily Finish I am 62 but still have combo normal to oily skin. I use Elf's pore filling primer and spray this product over it. After foundation, setting powder and finishing spray, my skin does well for about 3 hours then becomes very oily. Much more so than if I had not used a primer, setting powder or a finishing spray. I will be throwing this product away. I do not recommend it for older, oily people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good! This spray wears pretty good under foundation, although I don’t know if it really helps keep things matte. I actually like wearing it on my days off when I’m not wearing any makeup, makes me feel fresh & like my skin products are kinda sealed in. Warning: This spray is powerful!! definetely not a mist!!! Would never spray over makeup unless you want to get soaked lol

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Saving Product! I apply this with my hands like a regular primer, and it keeps my oil at bay! Best results with the e.l.f. sheer setting powder!

Can I use this as a setting spray as well, or just as a primer?

Asked by: JuliesaLynn
Just as a primer. If you sprayed this over your makeup it would probably ruin it in the long run. A "setting" spray (a spray to make makeup last longer) would need alcohol in the first 3-4 ingredients.

Could i use this and then on top apply my elf poreless face primer

Asked by: Anonymous 123456
You could but I think it would be too heavy with both. What I like about this one is you don't feel like you have anything on your face but it works so well!

Is there another way to apply this other than spraying it onto your face? I've heard that the misters on the bottles that look like these are rather strong and do not provide a fine mist.

Asked by: Ri36
I use my hands to spread it out evenly and that works just fine for me. It's a great product and very light!

Does this really work? Because my skin is so oily for no reason and it ruins my makeup everydayyy

Asked by: Renn16
You can only find out if you buy it. Besides, everyone's skin is different. It may work wonders for someone else, but on the other hand it does no justice for you. It's not like you're spending 20+ dollars.
